Ship suggestion thread

Recommended Posts

There is one ship I wish to see above all others, simply due to its fantastic design (and no, I'm not kidding, I really, really love this ships design).

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Defender_starfighter

The rebel Defender... The chances of this making it to the game are pretty much 0%, but hey, a guy can dream.

You and me both-this was the personal fighter of choice for a character i had in the Far Star campaign :)

I see no reason why they wouldn't. It exists during the Rise of the Empire and New Republic eras of the Legends timeline. I can't image it'd be too difficult to produce looking at its design, but perhaps it wouldn't be a high priority. I'm curious if it would be either a Scum or Rebels vehicle once introduced into X-Wing.

Could certainly be both as it was used by Talon Karde's organization.

Two TIE Fighter variants that could be introduced for Scum and Villainy:

Kybo Ren TIE Fighter

TIE Fighters which had been stolen and used by the pirate Gir Kybo Ren-Cha and his group, the Pirates of Tarnoonga. They were identified by the large insignia on the sides of the wings.

Red TIE Fighter

Also referred to as Pirate TIE Fighters or Redkihl Rokk's TIE Fighters, were TIEs used by the pirate Redkihl Rokk and his gang. They were identifiable by their red livery. The TIEs and Redkihl Rokk and his gang first appeared in the Legends comic "Death Star Pirates".

Another ship that could be considered as a Scum epic, the freighter known as the Dusty Duck.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dusty_Duck

The Dusty Duck was a custom made light freighter piloted by the Pa'lowick smuggler Neeamesh Dym, and later by his daughter, Aneesa, after he was murdered, together with the bounty hunter Rango Tel. Eventually, Aneesa was murdered by Darth Maul whilst in Mos Espa who thought that she knew the whereabouts of Qui-Gon Jinn and Anakin Skywalker. Tel also soon died after trying to hunt down a bounty on the podracer and criminal heir Kam Nale who when encountered gunned him down. The ship would continue to be worked on by Pit Droids and would remain there forever to rust.

The ship first appeared in a deleted scene in The Phantom Menace and later mentioned in the novel The Wrath of Darth Maul and various articles.

It's unknown how big the ship was, but based on its appearance compared to Qui-Gon, Anakin and the Pit Droids working on it, it could be big enough to qualify as a Scum epic ship. It's also unknown if the ship had any sort of armaments.

If released, pilots for the ship could be Neeamesh Dym, Aneesa Dym, and Rango Tel. It could also come with a Pit Droid which can serve as an astromech upgrade.

They disabled the Falcon, I remember that.

It's amazing to see two more Legends ships join X-Wing Miniatures. I assumed that all ships that were to be introduced after Disney's acquisition would be just from the new canon.

I'm excited for the TIE Aggressor and hope to see more TIE variants and Imperial ships from Legends added to the game.

The Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing (Assault Gunboat) ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Alpha-class_Xg-1_Star_Wing) seems like a natural choice for an Imperial ship.  They are well rounded and versatile (and aren't just another TIE variant!).  They have a solid pedigree and would look good on the table.  They would give Imperial players another option for using all those nice upgrade cards that most TIE ships lack.

The AIAT/I ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Amphibious_Interstellar_Assault_Transport/infantry ) would be my choice for a new S&V ship, because I think it's interesting and would make a great mini for the X-wing game and for Edge of the Empire RPG games, though I realize S&V already have plenty in the way of Large ships and the AIAT/I would most certainly be a Large-base ship.  Another of my choices for them would be the Rogue-class starfighter ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rogue-class_starfighter ).

The Rogue fighter could also pull double-duty as a rebel ship, since the Rebels clearly have access to old Clone Wars surplus (ARC-170, for example).  Although there are already two X-wing minis available, I think a Blue Squadron X-wing with alternate paint scheme and pilot/upgrade cards would be cool and would tie in well with the sweet new U-wing mini we just got.

No, but I like your taste in ships.  I loved the Assault Gunboat in the old Lucasarts TIE Fighter game.  I'm actually kind-of surprised FFG hasn't done it yet.  It seems like a perfect fit for the mechanics of the X-wing minis game.

Wave 12 has been revealed at GenCon and we finally get the Assault Gunboat for the Empire. It's amazing to finally see one of the most requested ships from Legends in the game, in addition to the Phantom II for Rebels and the Kimogila for Scum, another Legends vessel.

Another Old Republic era ship that would be a wonderful addition to X-Wing for Scum, the XS stock light freighter. The XS was ship produced by Corellian Engineering Corporation around the time of the Great Galactic War, Cold War, Galactic War and Rule of the Eternal Empire, approximately 3,000 years prior to the Galactic Civil War. The ship's design would later serve as inspiration for the YT series of freighters by Corellian Engineering Corporation which include the Millennium Falcon and Outrider.

Despite being considered an antique by the time of the GCW, in Canon one ship was seen in Mos Eisley spaceport on Tatooine which was used by smugglers who worked for Jabba the Hutt. Another was used by Lux Bonteri of the Onderon rebels during the Clone Wars.
