princeearwig 4 Posted October 16, 2009 ok, I've read the other threads and while a lot of people are just saying "Overbleed has been replaced with degree's of success", I can't seem to find anyone that's stated "how" they replace it. To that end I've had a peruse and want to see what peoples opinions of my take on overbleed in the new Rogue Trader Psi (RTPsi) system is. I like simple rules that can be applied easily and without slowing the game down so... Dark Heresy powers that have overbleed effects simply manifest their overbleed effects with degree's of success counting as 5 points of Overbleed. I looked at doing it with 10 points of overbleed first (10% - 10 points, looked tidy)... but the simple test of what was achievable with Bio-Lightning soon put paid to that one! (Psy Rating 5, 60 WP Psyker suddenly getting potential for "7" Lightning bolts... er NO!!! ). Also the Overbleeds do seem to work in steps of 5 more than they do in 10's. So for something like Psychic Scream each range increment increase would need 2 degree's of success in RTPsi. I crunched the numbers again on this one and came up with a reasonable comparison, even at the extreme top end with the achievable 8 degrees of success coming out comparable to the rolling a 58 on the power roll.
