audere1882 52 Posted October 1, 2015 Never played the game before, but i've been doing some research online and trying to come up with something for my first tournament. Need some thoughts as I have a vague concept of how things work, but don't have any practical application to base it off of. Here are my thoughts: Victory I Tarkin Assault missles Victory I Assault missles Gladiator Assault missles bomberx2 tie advanced tie fighter or Victory I motti gunnery team victory I victory I tie x2 tie bomber x2 tie advanced thoughts? should i use more upgrades and less fighters? less ships and more upgrades? Akhrin 567 Posted October 2, 2015 Tarkin is nice but tends to combo better with Liasons, while Screed combos well with Assault Concussion Missiles. List two looks tough to kill, that's a LOT of hits with Motti and three VSDs. The squadrons should be enough to hold up anything but the most determined fighter lists for a couple of turns, and if your opponent skips squads entirely you can threaten them with a lot of damage by parking your squads in the way of their ships. audere1882 52 Posted October 3, 2015 Played around with this list and won a really small tournament, but the bombers never really got off and the Vics didn't do a whole lot of hurt, except when someone accidentally got into close range of them. Thinking of changing to this: Vic II Motti Vic II Vic I Tie x2 Tie Advanced It's barebones, but I think throwing six dice from the front arcs of the Vic II's each turn will be brutal, and the Vic I will fly in close. Three squadrons to tangle up enemy bombers long enough for the SDs to take some ships out. Assault: Advanced Gunnery, although most wanted might be nice since all my ships will have 10 hull points, Defense: Outpost might be nice, since it will force the battle to come to me, although I think I;ll go with hyperspace, as the Vic II's should be beefy enough to last long enough for the Vic I to jump into a good position Nav: Minefields Thoughts? chrisrivers 112 Posted October 3, 2015 I would stick with contested outpost, it forces the enemy to come to you while you build up VPs. I like Most Wanted since it gives you control over which ship is selected for both sides. I might consider dropping one Vic 2 to a 1 and adding a gunnery team to the remaining Vic 2. Then turning the TIE adv into 2 TIE fighters. It is nice to have an even number of squadrons for deployment purposes. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
