Which preview will be out today?

Now I'm tempted to go over to the Legion forum and shout something obscene about all of their articles.

Don't do it! It's a trap!

Their game's not even out yet and already that forum is a way saltier dumpster fire than this place was after the first Jumpmaster nerf!

I mean, much as I like the optimism, the products are still In Development.  We won't see articles about them until they're On the Boat, so probably at least 2 months.

Maybe we get some Solo stuff but I can't see it happening until (or unless) the merch push finally starts.  Which given how incredibly low-key Solo has been, I'm not exactly expecting much from.

As a side note, the products just moved from "in development" to "at the printer".  It's not a preview, but it is still news!

I haven’t gotten to the point where my desire for news has overcome my understanding that FFG needs to market their newer games, but I feel that might not last too much longer, particularly with some of the cards teased this wave and the anticipation of more to be added.

But yeah, when ever I think we got it bad, I remember the Armada news cycle.

Like, I understand that this is their model, but I'm not sure I understand why. They make so much money off of X-Wing, I don't see why they aren't devoting all of their energy to just making it the best game ever, and giving us all the new waves and all the new ships when we want them.

I guess they want product diversity, so they're trying to push out as many Star Wars games as possible. Actually, on that note, I'm fully expecting a new Star Wars LCG, because I know that the old one will officially be dead this summer.

because they want to push their customer base into as many of their games as possible. So you are constantly buying their product.

Ooh, that IS news.  Maybe we get articles in 1.5 months instead of 2.

Also, I checked the article this morning and they updated the image to change the giant X Wing baseplate for a U Wing one - but I still can't make out the pilot name.

I don’t see a Unique dot by the name, do you?

I mean, it's working. I spend more money on FFG games than I do on anything else other than, like, food.

I would just probably spend even more money if they only made two or three games and made way more quantity and higher quality products for each of them.

Most people in my local area are convinced that the game is going to die immediately because most miniature games have at least six factions and FFG seems weirdly adverse to adding Clone Wars factions. I know that I personally would have preordered a lot more of it if I could've bought a clone army.

Getting  four armies with a Republic Army with Anakin Skywalker and/or General Kenobi would be sweet, alongside the CIS Droid Army. Having more choices would make the game more appealing.

Also need a pirate army lead by Hondo Ohnaka. Dude was pretty respectable pirate captain at one point with many soldiers, tanks, and ships under his command.

Yes. So much this.

Hondo would be amazing. Plus I'm pretty sure they could find a lot of extra stuff to add to his faction, given the tremendous amount of lore surrounding the whole timeframe before and after Epsode III.

Also, maybe they could do it right this time and instead of having a generic "Scum" faction, have a Bounty Hunter faction that could be hired into the other factions.

I'm thinking it has more to do with X-Wing's position in the market. Unless I'm out of date, X-Wing is top dog of miniatures game. While it can improve mechanically, it is already on top of the mountain. It's been out for a number of years, so it already has a player base to represent it across the casual/competitive spectrum. With X-Wing already being in the best place in the market, it makes sense from a business standpoint to spend time and money (both of which are finite resources) on other products to bring them up and let the proven product "coast" a little. They can't outright ignore it, but FFG hasn't been.

There are a number of reasons as to why they would chose to release ships at this rate: quality control, game balance letting the meta settle down (which seems to always be on the move), etc.  One of the reasons which comes to mind is also a simple one: it's Star Wars.  This means two things: building the hype is easy because we are passionnate about the setting.  The downside of passion is that we can be pretty unforgiving when they screw up.

Having Star Wars players is a double edged sword; we're all a little nuts :P

You know, Genesys actually looks kinda fun and cool. I won't begrudge them this one.

But if I see one more ******* Game of Thrones, Runewars, or Legend of the Five Rings article, I'll probably chuck my phone through the drywall.

We'll get the article we deserve again today.

Why were we born to suffer?

“Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg… and my arm… even my fingers. The body I’ve lost… the comrades I’ve lost… won’t stop hurting… It’s like they’re all still there. You feel it, too, don’t you?”
