Lyraeus 4,759 Posted September 27, 2015 Wow! 4 black dice for an attack by bosk.. . Also now I understand why Instigator is worded the way it is. It counters Grit. 1 Green Knight reacted to this
Lyraeus 4,759 Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) Dengar+Howlrunner and some interceptors means they have effectively counter 4.. . IG88 with Speed 5, 5 HP, Ignores counter and Escort (so Jan Ors is in danger when escorted). . . WOW, also a scatter and is 21 points. Dash is unreadable but I think he gets a reroll. . . Nym, every build. ALWAYS! (mind you Yavaris makes him broken. . . ) Han's ability to activate in the squadron phase seems counter productive to the Rogue keyword. . . But that is actually REALLY good. It means you can use him to add more damage to the attack And it is like having an extra squadron point except he is not limited by range Edited September 27, 2015 by Lyraeus

Lyraeus 4,759 Posted September 27, 2015 Imperials definitely got the better treatment in this pack. IG 88, Dengar, Bossk... too good. While good I don't know. . . Nym can cause havoc to ships, Han is a great squadron, Jan's is super support. All the rebel squadron aces have 2 defense tokens though they are all braces, the Imperials have 2 squadrons with a single defense token (bosk with a brace, and IG88 with a scatter) I think Dengar is the most dangerous Imperial squadron. . . But that is me. He is another Howlrunner but 1 more HP AND Intel. . . That means you can't lock him and Howlrunner down.. .
ficklegreendice 34,363 Posted September 27, 2015 Jan Ors still takes the cake here B-wings are better than ever also, have you seen Nym (who the **** is Nym?) Yavaris got a new best friend hell, the blahblah w.e the hell bomber might end up replacing my Bs. Heavy sucks, but 2 more points for +1 hull and + 1 speed and grit? hmmm... and anti-squadron is pants but that's what nebs are for 2 Green Knight and Lyraeus reacted to this

Nym has the single best ability of the bunch, but it only triggers 25% of the time. The Imperials got things that they needed, Rebels got things that didn't fill the gaps for them. Dengar is probably the best Imperial squadron but all of them are extremely good, some of the Rebel ones (Dash, the generic Falcon, Nym even) don't do things that they weren't already able to do. ficklegreendice 34,363 Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) Fickle's Attempt to Organize R/V Squadrons! Support: *HWK (intel) **Jan Ors (gives out braces to friendly squadrons) *YT-1300 (chunck of cheap health and escort to support bombers) *Jumpmaster5000 (intel) **Dengar (anti-squadron support by adding or improving Counter) Anti-squadron: *YV-666 (DEM BLACK DICE w/rogue) **Bossk (accuracy for anti-ace assassination; could also be brought in for fairly reliable 2 damage v ships and use ability to hit braces/redirects) note: anyone notice how much the generic YV-666 is a complete POS compared to bossk? I mean wow that is one of the craziest jumps I've ever seen. More anti-ship, more speed, ditches heavy, blue anti-squadron to black... *Aggressor (blue dice and counter) **Iggy-88 (ignores squadron abilities; counter 2) *Han-freaking solo wasn't sure where to put this guy, but he activates before anything in the game. that jump can be what you need to 2-dice a ship to death, but more likely you're ruining a squadron before it fires with 2 black 2 blue *YT-2400 (4 blue dice I guess?) **Dash (can't read that ****?) Anti-ship: Scurgg (lol) H-6 Bomber (blueblack bomber with grit; more expensive and more specialized B-wing) *Nym (blue crit neuters enemy defensive tech by ripping off the brace token) Firespray (2 blue bomber with Rogue) **Boba (automatic damage works on ships; not an attack so presumably not tokenable...) considering adding Bossk here. Dude will hit ships surprisingly hard while they're not looking most hype: Jan Ors (intel + ridiculous ability is ridiculous) Bossk (he's a beautiful, self-sufficient wad of trundling damage) Scurgg (lol) & Nym (B-WINGS!!!!!! part2*) tentative hype: Boba (seems great; worried about cost) Firespray (same concern as Boba; seems great but it costs twice as much as a bomber!) least hype: Iggy Yv-2400 (what do I do with you!?!?!?!) Stasy 2,503 Posted September 27, 2015 I'm thinking this is making running a squadron free fleet rather...dicy. The penalty now can be pretty minor, but if this is accurate, means that it's a very bad tactical decision. 3 LazorBeems, Wes Janson and Bipolar Potter reacted to this
