player546006 0 Posted October 14, 2009 ok in the rulebook it says to roll 2d10 add those together and then add 25 to the sum... i got that but when youre adding the 2d10 together does one d10 count as 0-90 and the other count as 0-9, or do they both count as 0-9 so that the max score you can get before adding the 25 is 20? this is for basic stats bu the way... mcneils5 8 Posted October 14, 2009 They both count as 1 - 10 (0 on the die) giving a range of 2 - 20 for the 2 dice combined
LETE 24 Posted October 14, 2009 Only when rolling "percentile dice" or a "d100" or a "d%" do you designate one die as the "first half" (from 0 till 100) & one as the "units" (the "second half" - from 0 to 9). This notation, I believe, is explained at the beginning of the book, somewhere. All other dice (XdX - 1d4, 5d6, 3d12, 4d20, etc.) are added when rolled. L Who? Dalnor Surloc 1 Posted October 14, 2009 2d10 is roll 2 dice with 1-10 as the range for each dice, and add the result. Thus 2-20 is possible. If you have a pair of percentice dice with one being 00-90, and the other being 0-9. Drop the zero from the 1st dice, and any result of 0 is a 10. Skill, and charactistic rolls are 1d100. Select one of your dice as the tens dice or use the 00-90 as the tens dice. (Must be selected before the roll.) 00 is 100.
Nojo509 3 Posted October 14, 2009 You can also spread out 100 points as you please, with no characteristic getting more than 20, so you can start with a 45 to two...
LETE 24 Posted October 15, 2009 "Only when rolling "percentile dice" or a "d100" or a "d%" do you designate one die as the "first half" (from 0 till 100)" My mistake: this should be "(from 10-90)" L Who?

No, from 01-100... In Re the OP... Since most people don't own a real 100-sided die (I do, they are worthless...), we simulate them by using 2 10-sided dice, read as (D10†)x10+d10†... reading the 10 or 0 side as 0, except when 0,0 is rolled, reading a result of 00 as 100. Otherwise, a d10 is rolled and the 10 or 0 side is read as 10. (I've some marked 1-10, and other marked 0-9. I've seen a couple games that did read the 0 as 0, not as 10, but they are rare. alexkilcoyne 1 Posted October 22, 2009 The 100 point anywhere you like them is actually the tiniest better than a dice roll array anyway. On an average 2d10 roll= one 5 and one 6. Added together the average 2d10 roll is 11 9 characteristics= 11*9= 99 You start one high point higher than the average roll with 100 point distribution, and you can put stats where you want them.
