MoffZen 760 Posted September 18, 2015 Hello guys ! Just wanted your advices on two variants of a Rebel list for a tournament I'm bringing They're pretty similar, but I think they can be optimized a bit more. In both list, the idea with the Corvettes is to do a wide flank. Thanks for the help ! Any C&C is welcome, both on the ships and the objectives ! List 1 : AF + 2 CR90 (298 points) AFMK2B - General Dodonna, Gallant Haven, Adar Tallon, Expanded Hangar Bays, ECM CR90 A - Raymus Antilles, H9 Turbolasers CR90B - Dodonna's Pride, Leading Shots Luke Wedge Dutch X-Wing Precision Strike Hyperspace Assault Superior Positions List 2 : AF + Neb + CR90 (296 points) AFMK2B - General D, Gallant Haven, Adar Tallon, ECM Neb B Escort - Yavaris CR90B - Dodonna's Pride, Leading Shots Luke Wedge Dutch X-Wing Precision Strike Hyperspace Assault Superior Positions Thanks a lot ! flightmaster101 1,534 Posted September 18, 2015 Double corvettes over the Neb/Corvette combo. Personally I would rather have Gallant Haven activate my squads than Yavaris. 1 MoffZen reacted to this
Drasnighta 26,573 Posted September 18, 2015 I'd rather have Yavaris activate my Squads... While they were within distance 1 of the Gallant Haven...Is that likely to happen? Maybe.Does that put two targets very close together and probably not at speed? Yes.I'd be more interested to see how the Double Corvettes go... I'd be worried about trying to run Yavaris and Haven together, and try to get value out of them both at the same time.... 1 MoffZen reacted to this

The idea with Yavaris is that I ran a similar double Corvette build (it didn't go too well, spoilers due to poor placement of the Vettes so that can be fixed), with most of my squadrons tied up in dogfight for 3 turns and not being able to break away. With Adar + Yavaris, if the enemy engages my squadrons before I can activate them, I get 2 to 3 activations per turn on 2 squadrons and I was thinking it'd help me break away from combat much earlier. Coupled with the 2 blue anti-fighter barrage from Yavaris. I do agree that it's much more defensive and slow than with the Corvettes though.
MoffZen 760 Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) Also, in terms of objectives, the red and yellow and pretty self explanatory... But the Superior Positions seems a bit "weak" compared to the other two. I mean, if I decide for the opponent to pick my objectives, he's probably going to go for that. Shouldn't Dangerous Territory be more appropriate with Dodonna ? Or even Minefields ? (even though I'm not sure the later is good due to my weak hulls on the CR90 and/or Neb). EDIT : Superior positions felt interesting to me due to having 4 squadrons and 2 Corvettes that will try to flank... But wouldn't I be shooting myself in the foot if the opponent has much more squadrons than I do or fast ships like the Glads ? If that's why u want to use Yavsris I suggest using paragon instead of galant haven. Get some ship to ship offense to compliment your double bomber attacks. Akhrin 567 Posted September 19, 2015 I prefer the first list . Haven't used Galant/Yavaris in a while, but always did find it was overkill having both. On the first list I'm not sold on the H9 lasers. I guess getting into range and pulling off a Concentrate Fire command along with Ray's token could give enough dice and options for utility? I'm also not sure at this stage what else I'd do with those points, so you might be right on that one.
Gowtah 196 Posted September 19, 2015 I fail to see a scenario where gallant pays for itself. That range 1 is just too small on a ship that is alone and needs to stay mobile to stay at range.
