"Tooth and Nails" Squad List

Greetings all

 

This is not only my first post on this awesome forum, but also my first real attempt to build a competive squad list. So please be gentle (really don't, I need to learn so be blunt) ;)

Not quite convinced yet. There's potential there, but might need some tweaking. I'll just do something here, do with it what you will. :P.

I assume you also have the core set?

 

Bossk allows you to trade a critical hit (kaboom) for two hits (boom), which pairs nicely with Greedo turning one of the booms back into the kaboom.

 

What we need, then, is a way to ensure you get as many consistent kaboom results as possible.

 

A Mangler cannon you don't have, so that's out. The other cannons aren't useful.

You have action economy with the K4, though that is somewhat telegraphing your intentions. You could mitigate that by adding the Outlaw Tech, giving you a focus when you perform a red maneuver. Go green and get a TL, go red and get a focus. Rinse, repeat. Either way, you benefit.

 

I'm looking at Marksmanship. Overall not a good card, people just don't like it, but it can have its uses and one might be found here. When going white or green, you can take the Marksmanship action allowing you to turn an eye into a kaboom result, it is a superfocus. Expensive, yes, but there was room.

 

I'm not quite convinced of Tactical Jammer on such an expensive ship, you don't want to add incentive to target Bossk, he will be focused down first anyway.

Glitterstim, lets put it on the backburner and see what else we can come up with.

 

The Y-Wing, I think, is trying to do too much and with such a low PS, it's going to be anybody's guess wether it's better to set them up the bomb before or after your maneuver. 

 

Let's drop the bomb altogether, and Genius as well. Upgrade the pilot to Kavil. That gives you some late maneuvering, which he can benefit from with Stay on Target. To offset the resulting stress, let's take an Unhinged Astromech for the greens. It'll supercharge his engines, the EPT makes him more unpredictable and his late moving should keep you out of arc. Instant competition for targeting priority for your opponent; who does he kill first, both are nasty at the end.

 

The Black Sun Soldiers stay.

 

That gives me the following list:

Now, as I said, do with it as you will, I'm by far not the best list builder, certainly not competitively, but I think this would handle better. Easier at least.

I like that approach :) 

 

I got the Core set (Traded the X-Wing for 2 Tie Fighters so got 4 in total), got the Empire Decimator, and the Most Wanted set. I am looking to get the YV-666 very soon :) From there I am uncertain, right now I am just picking up the game, learning the ropes and having a blast :D

Bossk looks good, maybe look at mercenary co-pilot over Greedo. Also don't discount another pilot and Bossk + Gunner as crew.

Kavil looks fine. If you have a blaster turret from a HWK I like that a little better. With an autoblaster turret I'd drop the title and go with unhinged maybe.

Maybe look at Latts with K4, Bossk and Gunner, Kavil with Autoblaster, VI and unhinged or Agro, and 2x Binayre Pirates?

Picking up a Scyk would give you some good upgrade cards like the Mangler cannon, though so would get an IG-2000
