Brucewayne 15 Posted September 8, 2015 Hey, everyone. As some of you know I'm currently running a game for a group of friends, but that leaves me in the position of not actually being able to play. So I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone would be interesed in getting a group together for a game on Skype or Roll20.
Daeglan 5,950 Posted September 9, 2015 I would be interested in playing as well. tricky part is finding a GM.
Brucewayne 15 Posted September 9, 2015 I would be interested in playing as well. tricky part is finding a GM. Yeah that's always the hard part. Hopefully we can find one, because I really want to play. GMing is fun and all, but it doesn't compare to making my own character.
Holzy 117 Posted September 9, 2015 I'd be interested in playing, provided the date/time fits.
Brucewayne 15 Posted September 9, 2015 I'd be interested in playing, provided the date/time fits. Cool. We have three players{more are always welcome, but I figured three was a good start] so once we get a GM we can set up a date and time.
zenile 0 Posted September 9, 2015 I'd be up for gming a game of this. I've never GM'd this game but have for several other rpgs but have all the books. Anyone play on Fantasy Grounds? I have an ultimate license and have the Star Wars Edge of the Empire extension.

Do we all need to buy a copy or will the free version work?
Thenger 13 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) As for me I would truly enjoy playing a game on roll20. It depends on the time and day though for me, and how often. I am currently reading the core F&D rule book in my free time. Looking to start to run a game for the kids and wife, but mind you when I say kids the youngest is 16 who has played D&D and other things of course. Honestly you could use both. That's what I do in my group, one of my players is on the road at times. Just paying 3 dollars a month on Skype I am able to gather up a few players and make a phone call to add him to the group. Roll20 is an amazing site, and you can see they put allot of work into it. You can get script that will allow you to roll the dice for F&D. Also roll20 works on tablets as well, which is another key feature that I truly enjoy. PS: Feel free to shoot me a pm on here. Brucewayne 15 Posted September 10, 2015 So now that we've got at least three players and a GM would you all like to set up a date and time for the first session?
zenile 0 Posted September 10, 2015 What days work best for everyone...I'm free Wednesday evenings from 9pm CST on, Friday evenings from 8pm cst on, and Saturday evenings after 6pm? If everyone could list out their availability we could find a date that works for everyone.

zenile 0 Posted September 10, 2015 FYI, if I gm, I'll probably run a mix of AoR and F&D, while using some of the pre-published adventures at least initially. If Thenger runs a game, well then I'm good as a player
Daeglan 5,950 Posted September 10, 2015 I mostly have used Roll20 in google hangouts. works good. Have no experience with Fantasy Ground. Do players need to by a copy?

Zenlle has an ultimate account so we're good on that front.
Daeglan 5,950 Posted September 10, 2015 ok. What Era? I like doing Ataru Jar Kai. Starting level or Knight level?
Brucewayne 15 Posted September 10, 2015 ok. What Era? I like doing Ataru Jar Kai. Starting level or Knight level? The era is mostly up to the GM , though I think Legacy could be fun, but if the GM would prefer to use published material, which I totally understand, then we should probably stick with the Galactic Civil War.. I'm fine with Knight or starting level.

If Thenger runs a game, well then I'm good as a player Sorry I didn't mean I would run a game on here, looking to run with the family. But I would be willing to play. If we run the game on roll20, we could have a forum just for the game. May be able to get the wife to play too, but she is a RN, and has to wake up at 5 in the morning. If we can set up a place where we could all chat, on Skype or Google Hangout and just throw around a good time and what not. I am pretty open for any day. BTW how often are we going to play. Once a month? Once a week? Wanted to play this for a while now.

I really love this system even as a GM so I can't wait to play it. Of course, it all depends on what works best for everyone. My schedule is normally clear in the evenings past 7:00 or so EST. A weekday would probably work best for me just because weekends tend to be slightly unpredictable with random household chores or friends wanting to do things and such. Holzy 117 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Tuesday and Thursday evenings are the best days for me but I should be able to make Wednesdays work. I'd prefer knight level, but I'll be happy either way. I'm looking forward to playing with you all. :-) Edited September 10, 2015 by Holzy
Holzy 117 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Out of curiosity, what are you all planning on playing? There are so many options that I enjoy, so it helps me make a decision when I know what the group is lacking. Thenger 13 Posted September 10, 2015 I normally like to play "tank" type of characters from MMO's to RPG. I live in CST (will be moving to EST in a few months). I think once a week would work, and yes weekday is way better for me, by a long shot. I could most likely play till 10pm, perhaps a bit later. This depends if the lady has to go to work the next moving. PC is in the bedroom for right now. I may need to ask a few questions about character creation, first Star Wars game with the FFG system. I think I may have my old West End games back in CT in a box somewhere, if that says a bit about my age. I are old man, not as old as Yoda.. but close to 40.... To old!
