banjobenito 1,393 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) I'm pretty excited with a build idea I've had... I think it does a lot of things very well - PS synergy, high red dice, alpha strike, presents a target selection quandary and is very well equipped to murder TLTs... K n' K N’Dru Suhlak (25) Z-95 Headhunter (17), Cluster Missiles (4), Glitterstim (2), Lone Wolf (2) - N'dru's ability syncs so sweetly with Cluster missiles, and as is fitting for a hunter/ saboteur, his job is to flank, find a juicy mark and do his best to burn it down in one round. He pops glitterstim, and if flown right, has two 4-die attack with focus and a reroll on both. It doesn't seem particularly unlikely that this single attack could burn a y-wing down in one round. After the dust settles, N'dru remains his normal threatening, lone-wolfish self. Kath Scarlet (44) Firespray-31 (38), Push the Limit (3), K4 Security Droid (3) - Kath is the centre piece of the list, her job is to tank if necessary (focus/evade), and roll heavily modified die on attack. Ideally she'd have engine upgrade, but I've flown her without quite a few times, and if your positioning is good, she's still a pretty scary prospect. She tend to attract a lot of attention, which she's fine with - two green with focus/evade, backing up 6/4 health isn't a bad target to have your enemy shooting at. If she survives, the second half of the game should see her getting a lot of shots in her rear arc with focus and target lock. Nasty. Kavil (31) Y-Wing (24), Twin Laser Turret (6), Unhinged Astromech (1) - The back up sniper, who provides a lot of options for the other two; he benefits the most from all three pilots sitting on ps7. He can snipe at arc dodgers, thereby stripping tokens for the others, he can deliver the coup de grace, he can watch Kath's blindspots, and can in turn use kath's ... girth (ahem) to watch his own doughnut. Here again, a sacrifice was made to make N'dru such a threat - an agro mech would have been first choice, but Unhinged means he has a better chance of keeping up with speedy Kath... Of the big lists, I suspect fat turrets might be this lists hardest match up, especially Dash. I fancy its chances against tlt spam, it should melt decimators, it has enough red dice to worry arc dodgers, and it has turn order flexibility to stack attacks in the best possible taste. People have been talking here recently about how the new wave is going to shake up the old ps divide - I think ps7 is a great spot to be sitting in as this happens. Of course, I'd really appreciate your opinions on the list, and any improvements you can see. TaeSWXW 755 Posted September 8, 2015 I recently swapped from Kavil with TLT to Drea with TLT. With Drea's TL's you land a lot more TLT hits than with Kavil's extra red die. If you're willing to give up Unhinged and fly a bit slower, then you can slot in R4-B11 and really give high-agility ships a run for their money. 1 banjobenito reacted to this
banjobenito 1,393 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Hi Tae, Thanks for that, I hadn't though of that combination before! I really like the idea of adding more threat to Soonts and friends, but I'm a little unsure how you'd run it ... Would you go for a tower of stress tokens, tycho style, or would you try and manage it to stay more mobile? Also, you'd lose the PS synergy, so Drea wouldn't be able to token strip for the other two, but that's not the Y's main role anyway, I suppose. Just about to give the original list a go, and will keep one eye on how Drea would've done is situations as they arise Edited September 8, 2015 by banjobenito
TaeSWXW 755 Posted September 8, 2015 Stress trail is how I like to roll. The problem is transferring the TL once she's hyper stressed. Gotta make sure you burn a TL then move it to another ship before killing it otherwise Drea will never be able to take another action. If you forgo R4B11 for an unhinged it's less of an issue as you never really get more than three stress deep which is easy to clear with her green 3-speeds. It all depends on how many high ability ships you have in your local meta.
