Dashing Poe Dameron

Poe Dameron

Autothrusters

Plasma Torpedoes

Dash Rendar

Push the Limit

Heavy Laser Cannon

Engine Upgrade

Kyle Katarn

Outrider

Poe's ability and R5-P9 work so perfectly together, I'm a big fan of Oscar Isaac, I prefer two ship lists, and The Outrider is my favorite ship in the game. Its like a list made in heaven for me.

I don't think it won't work, but it seems like a lot of people are slotting Poe into that Corran slot assuming it won't be that different. I think it will be. Double-tap aside, the extremely reliable 2 damage blocked by Poe each turn is not as strong against certain things as Corran's extra agility and Evade action.

True Bio, but Poe has AT going for it.  It's not the same ship, but I think it accomplishes the same thing in many cases.  Poe doesn't have nearly the same burst potential as Horn though because of Horn's ability with FCS.  Now does it pair well with this kind of Dash?  I'm not so sure.  I love these two ships, but I've never been a fan of the PTL version of Dash.  I think I'd rather see Kyle in his HWK-290 to pass focus to Poe so he can just Tallon Roll all day long.

I ran this list at Covenant earlier, except I had Lone Wolf on Poe. I also like to run Nien Nunb on Dash for the 3- and 4-straight greens.

It did remarkably well. Poe is very difficult to finish off. Lone Wolf and Plasma Torps were a dud - I'll probably switch to PTL to help them land.

Very, very impressed with its performance. I'm liking the idea of the Pez Dispenser Kyle and Poe, but I'm not really sure what that would leave points for. If we're talking TLT on Kyle with Moldy Crow backing up Poe, that doesn't leave a lot of options to round out the squad.

Having played this list a few times now, I'm almost tempted to drop the HLC in favor of a Mangler on Dash, upgrade P9 to R2-D2, and stick at 98pts for the initiative bid. R2 saves Poe from the likes of Carnor and Palob, or getting blocked, or accidentally running through an obstacle, and though its always great to have 4 red dice, the Mangler has served me well on Dash in the past. Maybe the Plasma Torpedoes instead, though they've been a great opening move against heavily shielded ships. Took out 5 shields from Bossk in the second round of a game tonight.

The two biggest things I've learned from playing this list so far is that A) Poe may not be as much of a death dealer as Corran is, but he's very consistent. He pretty reliably hits at least twice and evades at least once every time he's shot at in arc between ranges 1-2, and at least twice out of arc or in range 3, and B) Poe is **** hard to kill with regenerating shields without a concerted effort, which means less attention on Dash. The added green straight 3 is a really great addition for the T-70, one that I had previously over looked, but with Boost, is really useful for fleeing when you need to. In the several games I've played with this list so far, if I could take out at least one heavy hitter before one of my ships went down, I was pretty set.

ATs more than makes up for it. I honestly think with Poe's ability you have better damage mitigation than just say a regular VI Corran. PTL Corran is likely more durable, but he's stuck to greens the majority of the time. Heck, Corran normally has to do greens to get shields back. Also, you do have an extra hull which helps against the nastier crits in the new deck. Now, Poe is not nearly as offensive as Corran. So I think you are giving up offense for defense.

Have you thought about weapon guidance on Poe? You lose the focus for defense, but you become a lot more accurate. Say you roll, hit, blank, focus. You can use Poe's ability to change the focus, then spend the focus to change the blank into a hit. Pretty sweet.

I love the idea of mixing Dash / Fat Han with Poe.

Poe is cheap as for what is he doing.

For 31 points you can get Poe + PTL, Autothrusters, R5-P9 - I love how this setup works!

Corran, to be effective need a 47 points setup - otherwise there is no point of fielding him for stunnig 35 points per base... The cost is the thing that is turning me away from Corran.

  • Corran + Veteran Instincts, R2-D2, Engine Upgrade, Advanced Sensors 47 points - offensive
  • Corrant + Wired, R2-D2, Hull Upgrade, Sensor Jammer 47 points - as a counter for TLT lists (unfortunately NO Autothrusters upgrade as E is lacking Boost...)

In both cases this is sick 47 points, and it's hard to field 35 points pilot... without any option.

Personally I hate it.

On the other hand if you field Outrider with 58 Special Dash build... you can add

  • Prototype pilot + Autothrusters + Refit
  • Gold Squadron Pilot + R2 Astromech + TLT

or my 2 favorites ^_^ I find them brilliant!

  • Prototype pilot + Proton rockets + Munitions Failsafe
  • Prototype pilot + Proton rockets + Munitions Failsafe

How does this fair against PS9+ lists?

I'll be honest, its mixed results. I flew it against Fat Han with 3 Z's a couple times, and won fairly handily one time, and was absolutely destroyed by another. It almost compelled me to try VI on Poe instead of PTL, but it would be a **** shame to lose out on getting to boost/target lock and focus, since Poe can make such amazing use of Focus. Also, likely going first against Han wouldn't matter all that much in the end for a T-70, though it's not like Han is the only PS9 pilot out there either.

I did! It's is useful, especially when you don't have anyone with Poe in their arc. This is how I ended up running Poe

Poe (31)

Push the Limit (3)

Autothrusters (2)

R2-D2 (4)

Weapons Guidance (2)

Munitions Failsafe:

Because a Proton Rocket is likely to miss :D

heh, it's for high green dice ships or a counter for extremely big ... bad luck :D if you think there is anything else to use those 2 points - just let me know.

I used Poe with PTL, BB8, Proton Torps, and Weapon Guidance. The Torp can turn hit, eye, eye, blank into three hits and a crit. I like to use it in the opening pass or save it to tap someone after the shields drop. I don't know if it's strictly worth the points, but I like it.
