She tried her best to calm her nerves, but she had never been good at controlling her emotions. Korro Zal 54 Posted February 12, 2016 So I assume you are telling me that there is nothing in the vicinity that could be used to make a torch. Well, it is a desert, after all...
FCastor 81 Posted February 12, 2016 Jonas does have a glow rod if that helps. Is that not like a flashlight of sorts?
ColonelCommissar 1,243 Posted February 12, 2016 It's a super-powerful glow stick, if that makes sense. http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/e5/Star_Wars_RPG_Glowrod.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20070422214720
kaosoe 7,573 Posted February 12, 2016 I was looking through Maya's sheet yesterday, and I totally forgot she had a fusion lantern. Woops.
awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 12, 2016 character sheets ftw! Glow rods = flashlights. They cast a directional beam of light. Fusion lanterns radiate light in a circle, like your standard coleman propane lantern; but they also act as portable battery chargers. So I assume you are telling me that there is nothing in the vicinity that could be used to make a torch. Well, it is a desert, after all... You tell me! I believe you have some destiny points over there... Switching his glow rod on, leaving his lightsaber unignited for the moment, Jonas sheds some light into the darkness. Still, like most of the others, he too is caught off guard by the door closing all of a sudden. But what is more, he feels Kovin's fear. Finding the young Togruta he puts a reassuring hand on his shoulder, reminding him that he is not alone. That he is surrounded by allies. By friends. Discipline (Fear Check): 1eP+2eA+2eS+2eD 0 successes, 2 threat, 1 Triumph Could I use the Triumph to somehow help Kovin with his Failure? To be honest, I was expecting you to use that Sense Danger talent! You should have crushed that check. Since I don't allow Triumphs on a check to negate the effects of failure on the same check, yes, you may use the Triumph to embolden Kovin, negating his current fear penalties. Please narrate to that effect! For the Threat, let's keep the strain going. 2 strain for Jonas!
awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 12, 2016 Fear: 1eA+1eP+2eD+2eS 0 successes, 1 threat Seifer, caught off guard by the sudden closing of the door, freezes mid-moion a he reached for his lightsaber to illuminate the corridor. Seifer suffers 1 strain as he momentarily gives in to the fear around him. He will also suffer 1 setback to all checks this scene. Fear: 3eA+1eP+2eD+2eS 0 successes...Xan stood unmoving before the hallway into darkness. He could not tell if this passage led somewhere, or was simply a vision, a metaphor for the darkness that lay within his own mind... Xan will suffer 1 setback to all checks this scene. awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 14, 2016 feelin scared: 1eA+1eP+2eD+2eS 2 failures, 2 advantage Firan stands quiet, all expression hidden under an imposing helmet. But within a cold sweat collects on his brow. This was not a planet he was familiar with, and the presence of the force, an entity he was especially not familiar with, made every little danger and conundrum that much more exotic and alien. He knew how to fight, and how to survive, but not on these terms. ...and Firan suffers 1 setback on every action this scene! How would you like to spend that Advantage? Wow. That's a lot of fear going around. Okay, so what happens next?
ColonelCommissar 1,243 Posted February 14, 2016 Presumably we choose where to go. I made a Seek roll but that didn't achieve anything, so unless I could make another Kovin's instinct would be to go straight ahead and see what happens.
awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 16, 2016 It sounds like the group is heading out! Loving the narration, guys.kaosoe, is Maya not going to be lighting her fusion lantern? Just wanted to check, because it will have an effect on the group whether or not she uses it.
kaosoe 7,573 Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) Since I forgot she had it, I had decided that so did Maya. Edit: Let me double check the encumbrance. If it's really cumbersome, it would be hard for her to forget. Edit2: It's encumbrance 2. cumbersome, but not something that will constantly be wearing her down. So I say she forgot. Perhaps at some point, it might simply occur to Maya that she does remember her lantern. Maybe someone else's statements could jog her memory Or someone might remember using it at some point on the journey here.

awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 18, 2016 Sense roll: 2eF 2 Dark Side Once again, darkness filled his thoughts and he shied away from it. Something about this place had him on edge. Truly it was strong in the Force - but not to his liking. Hold off on any more skill check until everyone else has had a turn...but if you still want to proceed with this, I'll allow it. So if you want, you can roll an Average Vigilance check and then decide whether you want to flip use the dark side. Then we will just wait to narrate it until everyone has either made their skill checks or passed.

ColonelCommissar 1,243 Posted February 19, 2016 Ah I didn't realise it was going that way, I just felt it was an appropriate time to use it narratively. Is it easier to quietly sweep under the carpet?
awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 19, 2016 Whatever you like! I just wanted to give everyone a chance to respond in their own way. Please feel free to roleplay the Perception check and/or the unused dark side pips to your hearts' content. I'm sure your allies would be glad to know of the state of things as you perceive them. awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted February 19, 2016 Can I make a Discipline check to get my fear under control? (In other words, throw off the setback die?) For this, you'll have to do something truly brave, or see something horrific...basically, you need something to change the status-quo since you've already failed on such a Discipline check this scene. For example, you could take Kovin's information and boldly lead your allies into the room ahead, interposing yourself between them and any potential danger. Any other creative ideas from the party are welcome as to how this might be accomplished!
