Ravenheart87 0 Posted October 5, 2009 This was posted today on the hungarian site, rpg.hu: a fan of Ian Watson's work bound his favourite WH40K novels in leather, and put some nice optical tuning on it: check this out! Maybe the colour of the leather and some elements aren't the best at first glance, but still, an awesome work of a big fan. I know most of you won't understand a word from the article, but nevertheless, the pictures are nice.
Ignayus 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Very nice indeed, if he could get the backing from GW he could make a killing making and selling books like that.
Mithras 0 Posted October 5, 2009 It's...BEAUTIFULL!! Amazing, really. I think the leather used is very unusual looking. Looks almost xeno'ish. I myself would have gone with something darker. But man, does that ever look professional!
Ravenheart87 0 Posted October 5, 2009 The guy said he wanted it to look like it's bound in mutant hide, but he's planning creating a darker book, with his unused ideas. By the way, if I remember correctly, the Emperor's Tarot is also bound in mutant's hide.
Liam Kelly 0 Posted October 6, 2009 Yep most of the text I couldn't understand, the only exception being "awesome". Truly great work, the pictures are excellent
Varnias Tybalt 3 Posted October 7, 2009 Nice. I come from a family of bookbinders, and I've often thought of doing something like that myself. It's just that my grandfather used to run a bookbinding company on the industrial level and I get really access that much knowledge of how to do individual works like this. But I think he has some friends who do individual works (and quite artistic ones like this). I gotta speak with him about it sometime...
