Do you think they'll introduce a 3rd faction?

Don't forget that Rogue One will be set just prior to episode 4. You can assume more new ships from that as well the following year.

Wonder if this is where the Gladiator and Assault Frigate make their appearance. . . They are currently the only non Canon ships

Yeah we might get some new capital ships in Rogue One, maybe even the Raider as well as the AFII or the Glad. But still unless they only release one wave per movie or greatly increase the number of new capital ship models per movie there will be more EU or FFG created ships in the game.

And when were the MC30C, and Raider canonized Lyraeus or are you just talking about the first wave?

MC30 was in the production of Return of the Jedi but was omitted before release. It was later used in EaW but I have not confirmed if games count as canon yet though I don't think they all do.

The Raider was approved for Canon by Disney thus it was allowed to be designed and created. Since it has not been in anything yet, it makes me thing that what FFG produces for Armada will be considered canon.

EaW isn't canon

And I don't believe anything FFG creates becomes canon until it appears in Rebels, one of the movies, one of the canon comics or novels or a canon game though I could be wrong.

Well, considering that the Raider had to be approved by Disney from the ground up it is fairly safe to assume it is canon.

When was the space whale canon?

Correct, EaW is not canon (at least not anymore, but not sure if it was ever technically canon in the first place).

But as far as the Raider (or any ship that FFG would create) it would be considered canon as Disney had to sign off on it in the first place. It just hasnt been seen in any movies/shows/novels yet b/c it is so new.

Space Whale and the Gladiator are certainly not Canon. The MC30 shows that canon ships don't have to be 100% in the movie to be canon (I can be wrong on that though)

The Raider was a creation signed off by Disney. If it was not signed off by them it would just be Legends.

I like the raider and the space whale. FFG can keep designing ships forever so long as they maintain that level of stylistic integrity, at least as far as I'm concerned.

I've really grown to love the space whale. It's so bulbous in a good way.
