RoBro 0 Posted October 3, 2009 I have a simple question. What are the new careers in the =][= handbook? I thought there was only one but in the product description is says new careers like the black priest. Just want to know because I think im going to buy it soon, Thank you. Ignayus 0 Posted October 3, 2009 There is only one new Career mentioned in the book and that's the Sororitas. Everything else are background packages and Elite advances that can be used to specialize your PC in a particular way (i.e. Your Cleric could be a Mendicant Missionary from Maccabeus who decided to return and work his way towards being a Daemon slaying Black Priest)
numb3rc 247 Posted October 3, 2009 Well, that's not quite all. The Maccabean Black Priest is an example of one of the alternate ranks in the book. Instead of taking the next rank as you level up in your Career you could take a different one with different skills instead. For example, a Guardsman could level up to Armsman from Guard, or he could level up to Chaliced Comissariat Operative, which has many more investigative skills and newfound authority but fewer combat skills. Baldrick 0 Posted October 4, 2009 In addition to what's already been mentioned there are 4 new backgrounds (Forge World, Mind Cleansed, Noble Born, Schola Progenium [orphan]), lots of new bits of equipment and weapons, crafting rules, rules for informants and contacts & a ton of other stuff. It is a good purchase but you need to check the published errata with it.
aethel 1 Posted October 4, 2009 The Inquisitor's Handbook is still my favorite supplement for the Dark Heresy line.
ira2 1 Posted October 4, 2009 The inquisitors handbook is the best player expansion (and only one thus far) IMHO. Not only does it give more detailed homeworlds and elite career advances and starts, but it also gives a ton of specilized equipment, plus the expanded skills, contacts rules, and item crafting rules. Truely the best expansion in the series (IMHO).
