Sanguinary Dan 468 Posted December 24, 2015 But aren't there a few too many "engines" on the Punishers and too few on the fighters? Not criticizing, just saying.
Gadge 4,294 Posted December 24, 2015 What I always thought was a single engine exhaust on the TIE i later found out is probably a rear window!, The engine i think are either side of it which makes loads of sense as its a TWIN ion engine. I think i originally thought the engines were 'twinned' in the way some tank engines are
CaiGratze 24 Posted December 24, 2015 Here's an Andrasta repaint a friend of mine did for me. Not sure how to format the images/this post so that I don't post ten freaking huge images, so I'll post just this one, and leave a link to the album on Imgur. Also, are we allowed to promote friends websites? 6 ScaredOfCrows, Conundrum Eternal, Beard and 3 others reacted to this
Sir Orrin 1,908 Posted December 24, 2015 What I always thought was a single engine exhaust on the TIE i later found out is probably a rear window! On the original Tie, that is a Fueling port, not a window, on the new Special forces tie, that's a window. 1 Odanan reacted to this
ZenMastaT 219 Posted December 24, 2015 Where are the engines on the new TIEs exactly? I know one artist who highlighted them like this, which I quite like: I'm not sure if that is totally "correct" or not though.
Vixen Icaza 317 Posted December 24, 2015 Yeah I was unaware and always thought that was the engine on a TIE. After I had already painted a few I thought stuff it it looks right to me. 1 NotBatman reacted to this

FlightyBombJack 578 Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) I decided to get myself a YV-666 for Christmas. It is a ship I have been wanting forever, but I didn't bother putting the cash down on it until I got some from some family recently. If I had made the sculpt I think I would have changed a few things, but the paint job didn't really do the job on her I think. No offense. So instead of a full repaint, I spent somewhere between 4 and 5 hours doing some touchup work. So I present to you, Bossk's freighter, the Hound's Tooth. I wanted to keep the changes subtle, but I actually did a lot of work here. I started with a bit of drybrushing, darkening the main hull slightly and lightening the center stripe area on the sides. I did my best to preserve the corroded and exposed metal paint, but I added more myself and touched up the existing one with some careful brushwork. Amazingly I was able to match the grey coloration on my first attempt at mixing it, I was very pleased with myself. I went over the drybrushed hull with a couple of washes. The first was a black with a little bit of red to bring out the panels a bit more solidly, then I went back after it dried and made an extra thin brown wash. I dabbed a lot of it off while it was still wet to create an uneven and worn look across all of the hull save for the stripe. Added additional light washes to the ventilation panels to either side of the engine.... painted the engine ports yellow along with the back of the fins, cause you know, maneuvering thrusters. Final touches came with additional drybrushing to make it look old and dirty. Added corrosion across the hull with a combination of pencil and paint, I started with some black and red pencils lightly in some areas to create a look of rust, then I went in later with a thin brown paint to add some grime drips and smudges on the paneling. Pretty happy with my work here honestly, I like it more than my past work on the Decimator. ForceSensitive 2,640 Posted December 25, 2015 @Sir Orrin I'm digging those empire engines. I've been doing all blue glows to keep consistent with source images (decimator withstanding since sources had them as red so mine are red too.) Gives your army a fast more aggressive and sinister look. Sweet dude.

The raiders of the group I play with.http://imgur.com/5nA35qNmine is the one with the center bow Thanks! This gives me some ideas for what to do with mine next week, if I can get to it. darkjawa103 230 Posted December 29, 2015 I have a question for the painters here. What is the base color(off white) for the rebel ships. Specifically the T-70. Thanks in advance.
FlightyBombJack 578 Posted December 29, 2015 After repainting my YV-666, I decided to repaint some escort ships for it. I am not super thrilled with the end result, but it is still not terrible. Got two Kihraxz fighters, modeled after Talonbane and Graz...both of which I imagine as Trandoshans, so they can hangout with Bossk and brofist each other after popping bounty targets. Then again, nothing is known about either of them... Talonbane could be a Hutt or Jawa for all we know. I might do more touchup work on them later, I haven't sealed the paint yet, it's snowing here so I need to wait. I might do more work on the teeth marks on Graz's ship, or add more burn marks to TBC's. Overall I tried to mimic the paint scheme of the YV-666 and the touchups I did on her. After my work here and with the decimator, I think I will stick to doing cleanup and detailing work rather than full repaints, I don't think I can make them look as good as my touchup jobs. Regardless, I look forward to getting all three on the board at once! 4 WarriorPoet, zerotc, JCDisaray and 1 other reacted to this
