Rockstar2 0 Posted September 30, 2009 Hey All, had a chance to play with this Old School deck a couple weeks back, and took 1st place at the local tourney. It's one of my favorite decks i've ever built. It's fun, but not degenerate, so i hope y'allz like it. 1x 6/6 2.Terry 6hs 24vp +0m 3x 6/6 All Character Blocks +0m Actions (4): 4x 2/5 KFT +1m Attacks (16): 4x 5/3 Overhand Throw 2h6 (T) 5x 5/3 Buffalo Headbutt 4m5 (P:2) +3m 4x 4/3 Power Dunk 3m4 (Reversal, Punch) 4x 3/3 Burning Knuckle 3m3 (B:1, Punch) +2m Foundations (36): 4x 2/6 Commitment to Excellence +1L 4x 1/6 The Curse Broken 4x 3/5 Float like a Butterfly... 4x 2/5 Deadly Rage +3m 4x 2/5 Unorthodox Style 3x 2/5 Body of Souls 3x 2/5 Leave at Dawn 4x 1/5 American Made +3m 3x 0/5 Powerful Style +2m 3x 2/4 Visions of Destiny +2m Classic Tempo game where Terry throws out one or two attacks at most on his turn, an Overhand Throw and/or Buffalo Headbutt, just to get ahead of his opponent, then drop foundations. On opponent's turn, block with BK and reverse with PD, burning my opponent for 8 - 12 damage on THEIR Turn. BK + PD makes this kind of Tempo game more than viable, and puts 'pressure' on my opponent. This combo actually won me both games vs Ivy, as it literally prevented my opponent from playing out as many attacks as they'd have preferred. A quick note about the deck: It USED to be ruled that BK's damage from it's R ability allowed it to be placed in momentum, as was the case for PD's E ability. I recently found out that that's been changed in the AGR (boo, i say...boo!...). Unfortunately, no one new the updated rules, so i kept sticking my BKs and PDs in my momentum, and fetching them with Body of Souls and Unorthodox Style. It did make a difference. This deck was truly ridiculous when Military Jank was legal. Still, it was nice being able to pull out some Old-School Tech and win a tourney with it. Woot.
