mrobitsc 0 Posted July 13, 2015 What is the final cost for a seer specialization for a artu striker? My gm said it would be 30 plus 10 points for the first talent is this correct? This is the second tree. Thanks,
CaptainRaspberry 1,190 Posted July 14, 2015 New specializations cost XP equal to ten times the number of specializations you will have when you get your new specialization. If you have one specialization and you want to buy another, it will cost you 20 XP. If it's your second and you want to buy a third, it will cost you 30 XP. However, if the specialization is outside your chosen career, it costs an additional 10 XP per specialization. If your first specialization was in the Guardian Career and you wanted to buy Ataru Striker, it would cost you 30 XP -- 20 for your second specialization plus 10 because it's outside your career. If you're asking how much XP it is to buy the Ataru Technique talent, it's actually 15 XP: 5 XP to buy the first talent that opens that branch of the tree, 10 XP for Ataru Technique. 3 Ghostofman, Tear44 and Osprey reacted to this
Ghostofman 8,319 Posted July 14, 2015 Capt. Tbbbbtbtbttbt is correct. If you did not start with Hunter or Pathfinder, and you already have a second Specialization on your sheet, then your GM is correct. 30XP for your 3rd Spec, and +10XP for the out of career penalty. 3 kaosoe, Osprey and Tear44 reacted to this
awayputurwpn 7,720 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) It's kind of difficult to discern exactly what the OP is asking (apologies if I interpreted the question wrong), but it seems to me that the GM in question is saying that, for a character who has taken the Seeker career (and Ataru Striker as his first specialization), it would cost 30 XP to buy into the Seer specialization (a non-career specialization) and 10 XP to purchase the first talent. This is half correct: It is 20 XP for your second specialization, +10 XP cost if the specialization is not in your career. However, once you've bought the specialization, you don't have to pay extra for each talent. So it's just 5 XP for your first talent.
