Ultramarine "Reconnaissance" combat card question

If I am the defender and I play Reconnaissance, do I still get the tokens even though the first part mentions "if you are the attacker"? I'd write the text verbatim, but I am at work at the moment and can't find a pic of the card online.

The card says:

 

"If you are attacking, look at your opponent’s

facedown combat card.

 

Gain either 2 [offence tokens] or 2 [defence tokens]."

 

Yes, you still get the tokens, even if you are the defender. You just wouldn't be able to look at your opponent's facedown combat card. But that normally doesn't matter anyway, because as the defender your opponent would not have a facedown combat card when it comes time for you to flip Reconnaissance faceup and resolve it.
