USCGrad90 884 Posted June 24, 2015 I was wondering as to whether you can use a Pilot card with a Unique name (Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Dash, Jan Ors, Kyle Katarn, etc...) at the same time in a list with the same named Crew card. 1) Can you use the Crew card on the ship with the same named pilot? (i.e. YT1300 Chewie with Chewie Crew card) 2) Can you use the Crew card on a different ship at the same time you are using the named ship? (i.e. Vader Tie Advanced + Lambda Shuttle with Vader Crew) Forgive me in advance if it is a dumb question or has already been discussed, but I am not sure I have seen a clear explanation of this type situation. Malakai1939 44 Posted June 24, 2015 No you can't. They're unique individuals. Luke can't be a gunner flying his X-Wing at the same time. Same for Artoo. He can't be crew on the falcon and in an X-Wing too.
Smuggler 556 Posted June 24, 2015 Fluff reasons aside, cards with a small dot in front of the name are "unique" and you are not allowed to have more then one unique card with the same name in the same list, regardless of card type. 2 jmswood and ObiWonka reacted to this
USCGrad90 884 Posted June 24, 2015 Thanks. I thought that was the case, but wanted to make sure.
Buhallin 4,563 Posted June 24, 2015 FAQ, Page 2: Some expansion packs include Ship cards and Upgrade cards with unique names, as indicated by the bullet (•) to the left of the card’s name. As with other cards that have unique names, a player cannot field two or more cards that share the same unique name, even if they are different types of cards. 1 Smuggler reacted to this
treybert 893 Posted June 24, 2015 And on a related note, 'Limited' means only 1 per ship
Parravon 5,217 Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) On page 19 of the rulebook, under Unique Names. Edited August 4, 2017 by Parravon
jorisumu 0 Posted August 3, 2017 Old post... but I need to ask because this is related to the same concept: What about having the same Pilot/Crew name in opposing lists? Is that illegal? (I know cloning is a thing in the Star Wars universe... **** Kaminoans... but I need to ask!)
digitalbusker 2,248 Posted August 3, 2017 Yeah, it's legal to have the same unique card show up in both your list and an opponent's list. Tournaments would be a nightmare otherwise. 1 Parravon reacted to this

If the opponent fields the same pilots as you, then that's fine. Also note, it's not just pilots and crew that can be unique. Some ship titles and upgrades are unique as well. Quote UNIQUE NAMES (page 19) Some Ship cards and Upgrade cards have unique names, which are identified by the bullet (•) to the left of the name. A player cannot field two or more cards that share the same unique name, even if those cards are of different types. 1 digitalbusker reacted to this

The same Unique in an Opposing list it fine; you just run the battle to see who is the imposter. Things may be a bit trickier if you are playing a format where you may have multiple list or an allied partner. While not always the case if you are playing a tournament where you can bring multiple lists to choose from you may not be able to share uniques between your own list. If you are playing set teams (as in you and your partner are essentially two people flying one extra large squadron) you are unlikely to be able to have the same unique appear on allied sides in a team game. 1 digitalbusker reacted to this
