Regarding the Acclamator, in Empire at War it was the Empire's mirror to the Rebel Neb B. I know that isn't necessarily the best source to draw from, though they already gave us the AF Mk II, but a lightweight long range attack is something the Empire is missing. Given this logic it would be best on a small base, the only problem is that it's twice as big as the Neb.

Just because they are prequel era ships does not make them the prequels. The Pleta Frigate and the Arquitens Cruiser both appear in Rebels season 2 episode 1 which is the beginning of the civil war. These ships are now civil war era canon.

Really the odds on any ship designs seen in the PT era except for those that were already outdated when the PT began having been completely retired from service is slim IMO. Especially capital ships. They might be shifted to lower priority areas as more of whatever successor designs there are for them come online but they will still be around for quite a while. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see some PT era designs still flying around in the ST era in poorer and and very low priority areas, or in pirate hands and such.

I agree completely. If you compare it to real world Navys we expect a warship to get 40 - 60 years of usage. On top of that the Empire is Massive. You would expect all the newer more modern ships to be in high priority systems or task forces with the thousands of lower priority systems getting 20-60 year old equipment.

the empire's not missing a long range lightweight as an oversight; it's an intentional omission to distinguish the two factions

not that the GSD isn't that much worse than a Neb-B. The two ships are incredibly similar, the Neb being cheaper and packing one more forward red die, and the GSD stocking up on missiles like an obsessive mother at a black friday sale

I do hope there's some room for the acclamator to fill though. That thing has a soft spot in my heart for filling the void of no star destroyers during the EAW campaign, something which the tartan cruisers were woefully inadequate for.

Problem is it's apparently a transport vehicle, and the only armaments of the class-2 variant are a heaping helping of turbolasers (apparently twice as many as the neb), while the 1 has less with some point-defense lasers and some proton missile tubes.

Tell that to the MC-30c

I have a soft spot for it too, which is why I'll probably get Mel's off shapeways.

Back on topic though, I completely understand comparing the Neb B to the Gladiator, but the MC30 kinda throws a wrench into that. Though I am quite excited for it too.

the MC30's lack of squadron support make me think it's more its own thing than the Neb or the Glad

both the Neb or Glad can be more specialized via upgrade choices (or support refit in the neb's case), but the base Escort and Glad 1/2 are quite flexible ships

the MC-30 has "these proton torps are going up your butt or bust" written all over it

Gladiators can shove missiles up peoples butts too.

For the Empire, An interdictor seems likely, but I'm curious how it's unique ability would translate into the game.  There is no need to stop ships from going into hyperspace.   Maybe restricting a ship's movement somehow instead?

There's a lot of cool ways of implementing an Interdictor's abilities. A few of them have been proposed here.

SUPER skeptical of any Interdictor rules that don't know enough about the ship to include Black Asp

That's really about it. A shuttle, VT-49, Tie Defender, Assault Gunboat, and Gozanti, GR-75, E wing, Z-95 pair of sets seems reasonable enough as far as squadrons go.

´

Agree on these .. But adding the Braha'tok Gunship from Return of the Jedi (it fits the scale and was ACTUALLY in the original movies)... Would love to see the GR-75 in two versions: An electronic warfare version (there must be a reason the rebels brought a bunch to attack the death star)  and a pure transport for  some kind of mission based gameplay (Nebulon frigates escorting transports through the asteroids etc,)...

Also: MC80 Liberty class..

Is it just me, or do other people want to see the Acclamator as some sort of hull tanking machine?

I can see 2 braces and a redirect helping in that regard, with maIt e a contain token thrown in to boot.

8 hull (10 with motto), but 2/1/1/1 shielding means that you will be using it more often.

4 engineering, with a crew slot for the other engineering upgrade allows for the fast turnaround of hull cards.

Maybe just one brace, contain, and redirect token.

It would be subpar to victory in terms of squadron command, and probably lack an offensive retrofit. Maybe lacks a defensive retrofit too.

Maybe neb-b in terms of firepower, with some red and black dice. Or maybe blue and black. I dunno.

Oh, and just 1 anti squadron die too.

You take acclamators with motti ;)

Please oh please let there be third and fourth minor factions (oh can join main factions at a price!)

As much as I want a rebel VSD, I think it would be best to leave it at house rules for now.

I do not think that it would be a good thing for the game once you start mix and matching ships.

Now, of course it would be COOL, but it would be BAD for "the Meta" and "finely tuned game balance" or "faction uniqueness".

I believe one of the imperial ships should be the Arquitens-Class Light Cruiser.

Bro', your post is not quite meaningless enough (I agree on the Arquitens). Read the rules on the card!ThreadNecromancer.jpg

I was thinking how did I have two threads on the top 20 count, I did not remember posting anything else last night. I notice this was 2015 so good. Edited by Cubanboy

In a cavern, In a canyon,

Excavating for a mine,

Dwelt a miner forty-niner,

And his daughter Clementine.

Chorus:

Oh my darling, Oh my darling,

Oh my darling Clementine,

You are lost and gone forever,

Dreadful sorry Clementine.

[chorus]

Light she was and like a fairy,

And her shoes were number nine;

Herring boxes, without topses,

Sandals were for Clementine.

Repeat chorus

Drove she ducklings to the water,

Every morning just at nine;

Hit her foot against a splinter,

Fell into the foaming brine.

[chorus]

Ruby lips above the water,

Blowing bubbles, soft and fine;

But Alas! I was no swimmer,

So I lost my Clementine.

[chorus]

When the miner forty-niner,

Soon began to peak and pine,

Thought he oughter "jine" his daughter,

Now he's with his clementine.

[chorus]

In a corner of the churchyard,

Where the myrtle boughs entwine,

Grow the roses in their poses,

Fertilized by Clementine.

[chorus]

In my dreams she still doth haunt me,

Robed in garments soaked in brine.

Though in life I used to hug her,

Now she's dead, I'll draw the line.

[chorus]

How I missed her, how I missed her

How I missed my Clementine.

So I kissed her little sister,

And forgot my Clementine.

[chorus]

Now you Boy Scouts, there's a moral

To this little tale of mine.

Artificial respiration,

Would have saved my Clementine.

[chorus]

My guesses is we get ships that tie into the more recently released Star Wars stuff before we dive much deeper into the EU.

Ships from Rebel I would like to see: That ship that serves as Phoenix Squadrons flag ship (until it was too damaged by Darth Vader) and had to be abandoned.  The Gozanti, this has the added benefit that it is already a FFG ship, but I am not sure what a ship smaller than a Raider would be good for.  And the ship they refer to as the Light Cruiser in Rebels.  It would be cool to get the ghost as a squadron, but I don't know what else would come with it.

I think we may get Force Awakens ship like the First Order Star Destroyer.

Other ships I really want to see, the other MC80, the one with wings, I just like that one better.  and the other Assault Frigate.
