Tifer 0 Posted September 20, 2009 So, I was going through my stuff the other day, trying to come up with some new deck ideas. I've gotten pretty tired of trying to rely on Fury of the Ancients in all of my decks.. although it's probably my favorite card.. xD So, as I was going through my stuff, I ran across the promo Bryan Fury that I had picked up at my Tekken pre-release. I didn't think too much of it at first, other than that I needed to stick it with the rest of my character cards. However, after taking a good look at him, I really wanted to build a super aggro deck with him. I have a lot of Ragnar and Algol support, so I figured building him would be relatively easy, and alas, it was. Anywho, here's the deck. I haven't gotten to playtest it yet, so it'll probably need a good chunk of tweaking. I think it'll do pretty good.. at least I hope so, haha. Characters: Bryan Fury Astaroth Foundations: 46 All Life is Prey x4 Body Transformed x2 Brooding x4 Communing with the Ancients x4 Driven by Fear x4 Enraged Golem x4 Financial Troubles x3 Fury of the North x2 Hope for One's People x4 In Search of Plunder x2 Laughable x2 Regretful Existence x4 Stand Off x3 Torn Hero x2 Undisputed Ruler x2 Assets: 2 Path of the Master x2 Attacks: 20 Astaroth's Body Splash x4 Cleave x4 Crushing Embrace of the Jotun x4 Hades Ax x4 Leg Slash x4 So, that's it. Pretty self explanatory. Play an attack, use both of Bryan's abilities, pump for crazy damage, make your opponent cry, rinse, repeat. I'm trying to find a different attack lineup, but I'm kind of liking the one I have now. I don't really like checking lower than a three.. Like I said, I'll have to play test it tomorrow and see how it goes. I'm sure Wakeen and Shelby will have something to say about it. As far as my foundations go, I'd like to put in Ragnar's promo, and his rare foundation, but I don't have them. So just making do with what I have. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Tifer 0 Posted September 20, 2009 Alright, so I got to play test it today, and it did really good! I didn't lose once. Everyone decided to up and play legacy on me today, so I didn't know if it was going to do too well. I took out the two Undisputed Rulers, one Stand Off, and a Financial Troubles to make room for Man Behind the Mask. It helps out a lot. I still don't really know what I could do to improve what I have though.. Was maybe thinking about running the Hammer, and MAYBE Ymirfang.. Gimme some ideas? Wafflecopter2 0 Posted September 20, 2009 Stick Brooding in somewhere, 1diffs with strong blocks and both your symbols (you don't have any Evil chains in there, do you?) = always welcome The Boot seems like it would be a sensible addition over Hades Axe, although it's worse with Path of the Master. How much mileage are you getting of that, anyway?
MegaGeese 0 Posted September 20, 2009 Honestly, a lot of the problems you had today could be worked around by replacing Cleave with Pommel Smash. Yeah, you can't Bryan it, but being able to commit problem cards is a BIG deal. Additionally, to get around BS reduction stuff, take a look at one of Hilde's foundations - I don't have my search engine open now, but when they redux, the attack gets a speed boost equal to that amount. This gets around opposing Stand Off, Laughable, Brian's Sa's, etc. Lastly, consider Intimidating Presence to screw up the opposing staging area, or adding Envoy of the Queen/Ruthless/Relentless/Resourceful; the first two function as spam foundations that can be more easily passed turn 1 (Envoy has a low block - very important!), Relentless is good draw (Leg Slash/Hades Ax/possibly Pommel Smash all trigger it, and it's ye olde carde drawe), and resourceful is recursion at a premium. Tifer 0 Posted September 21, 2009 @ Waffle I've got 4 Broodings in there. xD As far as Hades Ax, It's a decent attack. Mostly have it in there for when I play against Wakeen's Cervy deck. The boot might work. I only have one atm so that kinda throws it out the window for the moment. @ Wakeen I think the card you're talking about is Strength of Training. I had thought about putting some in there. I actually had it sideboarded. Nobody was really trying to reduce my damage too much though for me to vouch the side-in. I think my biggest issue with resourceful is the numbers, and I need momentum for it. I'm packing 20 attacks in this deck, so I don't really know if I need the recursion that much..
