Salamano 0 Posted May 18, 2015 I'm currently running with Avric and Widow Tahra, but perhaps any combo of the classes can do. Anyway... so what do you think about this? Avric supplies the Prayer of Healing with Divine Fury to Tahra's re-animate Widow Tahra's re-animate is also supplied with Vampiric Blood Widow Tahra also has the Ring of Power, and has picked up the Army of Death So this means that Tahra has 5 Stamina, and during her turn the re-animate can attack everyone within line of sight (ignoring range), with a Red + Blue + Yellow + Yellow.... and then if there happens to be kills, she recovers a fatigue for each enemy that gets killed. Easy reload. [and then, depending on how the official reading is with action abilities that don't have the "exhaust this card to perform..." wording, it's possible that Tahra can do this twice in her turn, as it's technically not her re-animate's move.]
Omnislash024 169 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) Some familiars, such as the Reanimate, are treated as figures (as indicated by its Familiar card). These familiars block line of sight and movement, but are considered friendly figures for hero movement. They may be targeted and affected by monster attacks, hero abilities, and Overlord cards that target a hero. Similar to monsters, if they are required to make an attribute test, they automatically fail. Unlike normal familiars, these types of familiars are susceptible to the effects of terrain during their movement and may be affected by conditions. When a familiar is defeated, remove it from the map Is it a legal combination? Edited May 18, 2015 by Omnislash024
Zaltyre 1,670 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) It is a legal combination, and it is annoying for an OL. However, it is beatable by: 1)positioning monsters cleverly 2)killing the reaminate, which is very easy to do 3)exhausting and/or stunning and/or cursing tarha. Also, this requires that the disciple stay adjacent to the reanimate to add the die to its pool. Remember that Divine Fury wears off after 1 attack, though the necromancer can definitely use army of death as both actions. Whitewing 200 Posted May 18, 2015 This combination is way better with High Mage Quellen as the Necromancer rather than Tarha. I maintain the premise that Tarha is best as the runemaster class: her re-rolls are very useful to the runemaster, while they are pretty unimportant to a necromancer by comparison. But yeah, the heroic feat of High Mage Quellen makes this tactic HILARIOUS, and his heroic ability passive stamina regen makes him pretty strong. It'd be even more hilarious if you also ran a bard instead of a scout, doing a Warrior+Mage+double healer group. Take Trenloe as a Knight with it, have a group that does crazy damage once their abilities are unlocked and also pretty much can't be killed. You'd be immobile, but that can be compensated for if you don't have to worry about dying.
Zaltyre 1,670 Posted May 18, 2015 You'd be immobile, but that can be compensated for if you don't have to worry about dying. Except for those quests where it's almost a literal race.
Omnislash024 169 Posted May 18, 2015 So if an ability effects all heroes it effects the familiar as well. Correct?
Zaltyre 1,670 Posted May 18, 2015 So if an ability effects all heroes it effects the familiar as well. Correct? Hero and monster abilities, attacks, and Overlord cards that affect "heroes" also apply to things treated like heroes. This includes those familiars which are treated as figures- the reanimate and wolf, for instance. However, not the shadow soul. It is a familiar, but it is not a figure. Also, note that the reanimate cannot recover damage- not even via "prayer of healing."
Alarmed 257 Posted May 19, 2015 but it can use a Apothecary's elixir, though! Funny as that is.
BenOverlord 41 Posted May 19, 2015 BTW if you really want to get ridiculous with a necromancer, use truthseeker Kel with army of the dead. That is just brutal. OL cannot even strategically place monsters.
Alarmed 257 Posted May 19, 2015 There are many combination of mage and healer that provide good synergy, and also the various heroes. My favourite, for sentimental reason, is Elder Mok as an apothecary and Quellen as a geomancer. Keep them within 3 of each other and it's a running cycle of stamina recharging. Also, Elixir buffs like Inky Substance and Secret Formula on Quellen that add to the power of his Earthen Anguish or Molten Fury.
sigmazero13 101 Posted May 19, 2015 I admit, I'd have a hard time putting Elder Mok as anything other than a Spiritspeaker just because of what his name used to be Same with Master Thorn and Runemaster (And Astarra would probably be there, too, although I'm not sure a Runewitch is necessarily just the female equivalent of Runemaster). Of course, that's a pretty silly reason for me to be hung up on
AgentJ 79 Posted May 21, 2015 What was Elder Mok named before?
sigmazero13 101 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) Spiritspeaker Mok. (For what it's worth, a few other changes I know of: Master Thorn was "Runemaster Thorn", as mentioned. Astarra was "Runewitch Astarra". Jaes the Exile was "Battlemage Jaes" - so hopefully we may eventually see a Battlemage class! And maybe one or two others that I am forgetting).
