Hyperspace Assult questions

Recommended Posts

Trying to clarify a few things.

Imp side of things.  In a 180pt game with a Vic and 3 squadrons... I can't play Hyperspace assault b/c I wouldn't have anything on the board, so the game would be over and I'd loose instantly since I'd have no ships on the board?

I'm wanting to run a Neb and CR90 with Hyperspace Assault.  On 2nd Round I place my neb and squads at distance from the objective token... I can place it at any angle I want.  Possibly getting it to fire two of its arcs at a single arc of an enemy ship.  Then I move.  Is that how this works?

Do I have to deploy before any ships start firing?  Is deplaying done at same time or before command dials are set?

WHen I deploy my neb, can I set the speed and commands then, or would it be what it had at the start of the game when I set it aside?

You deploy it at the start of any round after the first one, this means before the dial phase. You set it speed when you deploy it, then during the dial phase, you will set its dials.

And yes you can deploy at any angle, as long as it is at range 1 of the objective token.

And yeah, using Hyperspace Assault while having only 1 ship is pretty stupid because you would instant lose. But anyway, since yesterday, the official format is 300 points.

The FFG Event Center ran a core set tournament a couple of weeks ago where a Victory using Hyperspace Assault came up.  Ruling was that the game only ends if all enemy ships are destroyed, and so the Vic could be set aside to arrive later without forfeiting.  However, any squadrons that could not be set aside (because of the limit of 3) and could not be deployed (because there were no ships to deploy from) were destroyed, so the Imperial player started out down 16 points.

At least one of the game designers was present for that, although I don't remember who it was now.

You are right, it is even in the FAQ.
