Payens81 10 Posted May 10, 2015 I ran into a situation about with a collision and the speed being reduced to 0. If a ship tries to preform a maneuver and it is going to hit a ship you reduced the speed by 1. Now lets say that it's speed is temperately reduced down to 0, it could not move. The rules also say a ship at 0 speed can't use any of it's defensive abilities. So I read that as if a ship gets it speed reduced down to 0 because of a collision then it can't use it's defensive tokens until it can move again. However; the other play said no it is just a temporary for the speed maneuver and does not affect the defensive tokens. Who is right?
thanosazlin 52 Posted May 11, 2015 the rules on page 8 for overlapping state you temporarily reduce speed by one, (without changing the speed dial) so i agree with the other player and that is how we have interpreted as well. you can read the entire paragraph in more detail as it mentioned even if you reduce to speed 0 it is temporary. since the speed dial does not get changed, we always go by the speed dial. if the paragraph stated for you to change the speed dial to 0 permanently , then i would disable all defense tokens. FreefallGeek 123 Posted May 11, 2015 Just to put the nail in this coffin, your opponent was correct. (But good try! )
