Just started playing Netrunner after picking up my Core Box at the beginning of the week (my first LCG as well). After a few games under my belt now, and some rather cool additions to my cards as of yesterday, I have to say I'm loving this game. I've been haunting these forum halls for a while now, learning as much as I could before jumping right in. Plus I've been checking out and researching from some alternative sites...but I wished I had jumped in sooner. As the saying goes, "better late than never," and now I'm totally on board. 

 

I still haven't found my "ideal" Runner and Corp factions just yet, but I'm experimenting with various options. It's really just hard to choose for me, as they all possess things I find interesting. I can't even say for certain that I like more; the Defensive Paranoia of the Corporations, or the Aggressive Anti-Establishments of the Runners. Both sides are equally awesome and enjoyable for me. I guess that's a good thing, if I start sliding into league play.

 

My first experience with playing with strangers was yesterday at my local games store, and I had a complete blast! So much fun, and met some really nice gamers (Thank you Pat and Jack). So I can see that being a "thing" now, for sure. Looking forward to the future.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Netrunner Raine! It really is a great game and the designers are doing a good job keeping it fresh with the various cycles. I started out a Shaper lover but have moved over Criminal and of late I am playing my MaXx deck because it is so totally insaine. Both sides are a great fun. Run hard and keep the Corp poor!

Still been plugging away at this game. Loving every minute of it.

I have finally decided my ID focuses a few days ago, with HB (NEXT Design) as my Corp of choice, and Shapers are my Runners (Digging Hayley and Chaos Theory quite a bit!).

Slowly but surely, I'm getting used to Jinteki's "Murder the Runner" attitude, but I've been holding my own well enough. Constantly tweaking my decks little by little. Trying to find that sweet spot for my particular play-style. Which has been more of a difficult task with my Runner Deck(s), than it has with my Corp. 

Anywho...just thought I'd give an update.

Hey Raine, I'm from Hamilton Ontario too and help organize events at black Knight Games. We also have a facebook group called Hamilton Netrunners and there is a larger facebook group for the GTA called Torsaug City grid that would be cool if you were to join as there is lots of postings on events going on in the area.

I haven't really been to Black Knight Games since an old Malifaux League I was apart of about two years ago. Funny thing is, I don't live that far from it.

Unfortunately last night I was a tad busy, and didn't check this thread until this morning. But Monday's are definitely doable.
