Whats the best Scum Firespray list you have seen or played against?

Whats the best Scum Firespray list you have played against?

 

With the shape of the current meta (if you actually have one in your area, im not sure i do)...

 

What list that runs at least one scum firespray have you seen or played against that you really liked?

 

  • Scum Kath is a beast right?
  • Scum Bobba is a wrecking ball in close.
  • I have run them together and iv run Bobba with an IG-88 but im still thinking there is a more competitive list out there.
  • I wonder if the new ordnance fix will have a long term effect on firesprays, the points are already tight with firespray lists, especially if you are using the named pilots.

Scum Kath and Boba are great but Boba with VI, autoblaster and recon specialist , and Kath with HLC, K4 and i use PTL :) And IG88C with PTL, Fire-control system, auothrusters and autoblaster :)

I love boba scum boba with expert handling, cluster missiles, gunner, and glitterstim when it comes out. (Possibly extra munitions as well)

I pair it its 88B with mangler AT FCS but I have been itching to try it with a skinny kath.

I started experimenting with Boba lately. Pairing him with a HLC Kath with K4 is nice. I tried Expert Handling and that was meh, but I find he's quite the specialist with Outmaneuver, and Recon Specialist. I throw an Autoblaster on him for kicks and giggles. It does more to scare the opponent from getting too close than anything. Inertial Dampeners is nice for that opportune moment. Lock in a 3 or 4 move, the enemy tried to cause a bump so you can't hit, then you have a choice. ID for AB shots of blow past and outmaneuver with 4 dice to great effect. He's kind of an all-comer.

Mandalorian Merc + VI (36)

2x Binayre Pirate (24)

 

4 ships. 2 blockers. could even just run rebel captive VI+tactician on Kath.

A list similar to sable griffon's:

IG-88B — Aggressor 36

Veteran Instincts 1

Advanced Sensors 3

Heavy Laser Cannon 7

Autothrusters 2

Boba Fett (Scum) — Firespray-31

Veteran Instincts 1

Proton Bombs 5

Tactician 2

Engine Upgrade 4

destroyed my 8 TIE swarm. Once in combat it destroyed 1-2 TIEs a round.

This isn't with standard rules, but I ran a Boba Scum squad in a 150-point tourney and went 3-0 without losing a ship.  Boba had Predator and RecSpec.  Other ships were Guri, Kavil, Mangler Spacer, and a Pirate.

 

I was literally just working on creating a viable 100-point squad that replicates my beast 150-pointer, this is probably my best bet:

 

Boba w/ Predator, RecSpec

Kavil w/ Blaster Turret, Unhinged, Marks, EI

N'Dru w/ Lone Wolf, Dampeners

 

(Alternatively, swap Pred for EH and Dampeners, or swap N'Dru for a Mangler Spacer)

 

My other idea is to use a Black Sun Enforcer and HLC Serissu instead of Kavil/N'Dru - Lots of red + green dice, extra defense reroll for Boba or Starviper. Boba would have to lose Pred/EH in favor of Calculation or VI.

I'm actually currently torn on 2 list for Regionals. First one is a pretty standard IG-88 B and Boba Fett.

Like I said pretty standard list and give you intiative at 99 points. I feel like I'm often flying the Aggressor wrong. Keeping him at range 3 feels surprisingly difficult.

 

Second list is Kath and Boba.

I feel more comfortable with this list because I get dual rear arcs and can often bait someone into chasing one of the ships. It's at 97 points right now which means I can fit Inertial Dampeners on both list (most likely) or Inertial Dampeners on one and Seismic Charge on Kath Scarlet. The biggest downside is Boba doesn't get Engine Upgrade.

 

I also was messing around with an Imperial list using Kath and Boba. Kath had Mangler and Tactician and Boba had Rebel Captive and an Ion Cannon but not sure how viable it is.

 

Anybody else have much luck with a scum Kath/Boba list. I've seen Boba/IG-88B show up and I guess I just need some sort of validation on the Kath/Boba list.

A friend uses

2X Mando Mercs with Recon Spec and Predator

Scyk-Title+Flechette cannon

 

He has done very well with it so far, but I would personally prefer to go 2 HLCs instead of the Scyk

If you go that route you could go for upgrading one to Kath as well I believe.

Brown bomber that list sounds straight up naughty. I may have to try that before too long.

I haven't played competitively but in casual games I've have some decent success and fun with a fat Emon + 3 binayre hot shots:

Emon with Andrasta, Greedo, Mangler Cannon, 2x Proximity Mines, Proton Bomb, Experimental Interface (55)
3x Binayre Pirate with Hot Shot Blaster (35)

KT I haven't run Kavil or ndru myself yet but it seems rather solid. If I ran ndru I would try to squeeze cluster in just because 2 four dice attacks seems naughty ^_^ and boba really really likes to have some kinda repositioning so you can dodge arcs and change range bands. Either EU or the elite that gives barrel roll. Doesn't need both but one or the other makes a world of difference.

Sorry I couldn't be more help but for that list I have no real experience to draw from.

Sorry I couldn't be more help but for that list I have no real experience to draw from.

 

Thanks, I do want to try N'Dru with cluster missiles, but I may wait and see what this ordnance fix is that's apparently happening with Wave 7.

 

As for Boba, see, everyone says to take EH or Engine Upgrade, but from my experience, I really want to keep stress off of him in order to use those double focus from RecSpec.  I think he needs PtL and EU if anything, to still get the focuses and the boost.  Considering that you're driving him straight into traffic if done right, I find his green moves tough to complete after stressing.

 

My new thought is to fly him in with Serissu hanging right on his tail, with Wingman.  Then Serissu can clear stress from Boba's PtL, and give him an additional defense reroll as well with her ability.  My current build is to leave Serissu without any other upgrades - pure Boba support, and then give N'Dru Lone Wolf and Hot Shot Blaster to flank and either draw enemies, or get some free 3-4 dice attacks + LW rerolls.  It could be big time fun... worth trying out very soon!

Hmm that's actually a pretty sweet idea running naked Ser with him as support. I would love to try that.

Yea I'm not big on saying things are auto include but repositioning abilities are just so powerful on big bases, especially when they have range specific abilities such as boba.

Edit: also if you go the ptl route you may as well go K3 as well since you will be doing so many greens the free TLs may very well be worth it, especially if you include something like clusters (I'm gonna try title, munitions, cluster, glitterstim when they come out :D )

Hey so just fyi, I ran this build below and everything worked according to plan.  It was against my girlfriend who is admittedly not that experienced. but it was still very successful.

It's called Reroll Bonanza because N'Dru gets Lone Wolf rerolls, Boba gets his Range 1 attack/defense rerolls (+ target lock if need be w/ PtL), and Serissu grants an extra defense reroll if needed.

 

Basically I sent N'Dru up the side and he kept out of range of friendlies for about 5 rounds during which time he took out a TIE fighter with the Hot Shot. Boba ran up the gut and went all out on the rest of the squad, avoiding almost all damage for about half the match thanks to rerolls and double focus tokens.  Serissu stayed on Boba's ass, and really it's great to have her following him around because even if she rams Boba by accident or hits an asteroid, Wingman still works. You just gotta stay close, one way or another.

 

The only issue was I never got Adv. Torps off, and by the time I focused on it, I took a crit that forced me to discard it. One could easily redistribute those 6 points to give Serissu a Mangler, or a bomb for Boba + a modification elsewhere.  It was close, but I didn't lose a ship.
