commandosolo 2 Posted April 28, 2015 I am wondering if this is it for Arkham horror expansion wise or will there be more? I would think they would have done everything and now are moving onto EH and MOM. Am i right or wrong?
Soakman 987 Posted April 28, 2015 Nobody knows FOR SURE.. but you're probably right. It doesn't make Arkham Horror any less great of a game simply because it is not pumping out expansions. I haven't seen half of the cards that I actually have for the game (I just bought my last expansion over the weekend). And if that isn't enough variety, then there is a load of custom content created and playtested by dedicated players. I have one player-created expansion that I havne't even played with yet because I haven't finished creating all of the components (though I do have a nice cloth map for it, lol). I even have some pretty rad (if I do say so myself) custom investigators I created that you can find in my signature. These open up some options for unique investigator playstyles as well to add variety but fall in the same vein as the original investigators thematically. 1 The Professor reacted to this
Julia 2,809 Posted April 28, 2015 I'd not hold my breath while waiting, but I don't think it's sure they are done with Arkham yet: it's still among their best-selling lines, and there's quite some space for expanding the game in many different ways. This said, I have no idea of their plans for Arkham, so, as Soakman suggested, there's enough good custom material that should allow fans to play for quite some more years without compromising replayability 1 sgtkneecaps reacted to this
Borealian 81 Posted April 29, 2015 As far as I remember, Miskatonic Horror was actually sold as the last expansion for AH. Before that, there was a regular publishing schedule with one big and one small expansion every year (I might be remembering things incorrectly, mind) whereas we haven't seen anything new for several years now. If anything more was released at this point, I would be very (pleasantly) surprised. I know fans were hoping for an Antarctic expedition or mountains of madness expansion but alas, nothing official seems to be forthcoming along those lines. Julia 2,809 Posted April 29, 2015 Some FFG games had a long period of stop, and then they suddenly had an unexpected expansion (like the latest exp for Twilight Imperium, for instance); since no official announcement from FFG was ever done about MH being the last in the series, I don't see why the game should be taken for dead. Some things happened in the meantime: Kevin left (so, no more exp with his design for any of "his" games), Eldritch was released and so on. But there's still a real love for Arkham Horror (see the contaminations in Gates of Arkham for ES and The Laboratory for MoM), the game is still selling a lot despite its age and the communities related to the game are still a lot active. I'm sure they know that as soon as they decide to release something for AH, they will sell 5K copies on pre-order (or so). So, I still hope and wait 1 Soakman reacted to this
Jake yet again 76 Posted April 30, 2015 Arkham Horror has been temporarily eaten by Cthulhu. We're fetching our Elder Signs but you may notice some disruption to your service. In the intervening time, might I recommend you direct your gaze here: https://neilscuriosityshop.wordpress.com/board-games/arkham-horror/

Do you think it's possible to have credits for my stuff? I gave Tim permission to host them on his site, but as he took them from my Photobucket, he could have taken a note that he was using my creations. Not that fair, to be honest
Julia 2,809 Posted April 30, 2015 Also, the Nyarlathotep heralds hosted on the site were not created by Avi, but used by Avi for his Advanced Players League; they were mostly created by Rovdjuret
Julia 2,809 Posted April 30, 2015 I entered a specific comments in the comment section of the site with the correct list of credits for most of the creations. Not sayin' I don't like the project (it's good to have it, and the site is nice), but all the authors spent hours and hours of their lives creating and testing this stuff, and it's just that they are credited for their work 2 MadFuhrer and Soakman reacted to this
Jake yet again 76 Posted April 30, 2015 Thanks for the correct corrections. I've updated the site accordingly. Just to put the record straight, like you, I believe in fair accreditation for work performed. All material was uploaded with full accreditation to the extent that I was aware of it or could locate the original source, and any errors in the attribution of provenance were my own. Where feasible the owner's permission was sought, and where provenance was unknown it was either left unascribed or noted as unknown in provenance. I welcome audience participation in locating and attributing creative works to their owners. 2 Julia and Soakman reacted to this

Soakman 987 Posted April 30, 2015 Speaking of expansions... looks like they just announced another for Eldritch Horror. That was ... fast.
Borealian 81 Posted May 1, 2015 Ok, so how does this work? If we publicly yearn for a Mansion of Madness expansion instead, do we get an Arkham Horror one? Actually, it's probably going to be stranger than that isn't it? Here goes: Boy, I sure could do with an expansion to Hey, that's my Shoggoth fish! There. I said the words. I'm getting the expansion now. ... Dang it! 1 Soakman reacted to this
