Rhinoviru3 469 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) What's up, forum? This is a list I've been toying and tweaking since W1 was spoiled, and I've managed to have two proxy games to decent success. For your consideration: Assault Frigate MkII B - General Dodonna (98) CR-90 Corvette -B (39) CR-90 Corvette -B (39) CR-90 Corvette -B (39) Squadrons: Wedge Antillies (19) X-Wing (13) X-Wing (13) "Dutch" Vander (16) B-Wing (14) B-Wing (14) Objectives: Opening Salvo, Contested Outpost, Minefields Total = 298 The plan is to use the Assault frigate to punish vessels from long range broadsides, and use lots of annoying zippy corvettes to dance around slower targets, get objectives, and generally just be annoying, reacting to threats. Squadrons are deployed as one, where the X-Wings escort the other vessels to punch a hole in the objective ship/flagship. Wedge and Dutch combo is there to help with any TIE's that attempt to tie them up (pun was a happy coinkydink) Edited April 21, 2015 by Rhinoviru3
NeverTellMeTheOdds 219 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) I would try and fit dodonnas pride some how. You could drop a Bwing, that would give you 16 points, 6 for Pride, and then 10 for an enhanced armament for the assault frigate. DWRR 898 Posted April 21, 2015 How did the games play out? what strategy did you use?
Perakkir 108 Posted April 21, 2015 Interesting. Assuming an imperial player who has less than 298 points or chooses Minefields and also has an equally quality set of squadrons (and not just a handful of TiE fighters) - what is the plan? Another way to ask this is - I have seen a lot of rebel talk about maneuvering to objectives - which does not happen really as the default choice is minefields and the imperial is better at them than the rebel and the imperial wave 1 squadrons keep pace with what the rebel gets. So, it will have to be about ship combat and in a world where you cannot avoid the enemy and win.
meaples 2 Posted April 21, 2015 I second avoiding minefield objectives for your list. Given that your corvettes don't have long range firepower, the minefields could work against you against camping opponents. Something about the medium ranged corvettes put me off since Imp ships can potentially cripple them in a single volley but your mileage may vary though so do play it out and see the results.
