Sjursen 0 Posted September 10, 2009 Hey everyone. I love this game, and I have been experimenting with different monsters, investigators, etc, and I have looked on the internet and I saw that someone did a Buffy set, but when I click on the link, it is dead. I was wondering if anyone still had it and wouldn't mind giving me a copy. Thanks guys.
Sjursen 0 Posted September 11, 2009 Well, since it appears no one has a version, does anyone have any recommendations to make an investigator card for her?
AVEC2 2 Posted September 14, 2009 Well, high Fight of course, and also the Martial Arts skill. She should probably have a high Speed, since she often seems to move from location to location almost immediately. About the only thing she's bad at is Lore. Which is the problem - she's a superhero, but investigators are supposed to be normal people. Xander would make a good investigator, especially with his "army training." They're a bit overpowered in my opinion. If you want them (and I don't want to get into the works of reposting them) send me a mail at genejack00 (at) hotmail.com and I'll send you the files. Collex 0 Posted October 3, 2009 Sjursen, you read my toughts. I'm back playing Arkham Horror and watching (and reading) Buffy after a long hiatus, and I just decided to get back on making custom things for AH and create Buffy-themes investigator. It'll take me a long time to make them, cause I'm pretty busy and not good at ending a series once I begin it if it drags too long, but once I do some, I'll post them in the custom investigator topic, I promise. Her are the investigator on my list: Buffy (duh), Willow, Xander, Angel and Giles first. I'll then tackle Spike, Dawn, Faith, Anya, Oz and mayyyybe Satsu. I also wanted to create Ancient One, but the only villains that would fit as Ancient One would be Glory (she's a goddes and she has followers) and The First (unspeakable evil + follower). Maybe the Mayor (Demon Form) with the Mayor (human form) as a herald.
AVEC2 2 Posted October 10, 2009 Buffy is way overpowered, but the other characters would make great investigators. Giles, Xander, Cordelia etc. would fit in quite well with the other AH investigators. So here's a radical thought - how about making Buffy a Guardian? If an investigator is having trouble fighting a monster, there could be a chance that Buffy will show up to lend assistance, maybe giving extra dice to combat checks. Or she could be an ally that can't be discarded and that moves from investigator to investigator. Maybe she gets passed along with the first player token. (And if she gets passed to Angel, there's a chance that she and Angel will be, um, delayed.)
Collex 0 Posted October 10, 2009 I don't know about overpowered. Her investigator's power level doesn't necessarily have to jive perfectly with her power level on the show. Also, none of Buffy's ennemies, with the exception of the First, is of a power level close to the PL of an Ancient One. It depends on how you stat her, I suppose. I agree that making her a guardian might be a nice idea. But I would prefer to try to make her an investgator, and maybe do The First Slayer as a guardian "(And if she gets passed to Angel, there's a chance that she and Angel will be, um, delayed.)" And then you'll lose your investigator as he begins to roams into the streets, killing everyone. Great Plan.
Avi_dreader 64 Posted October 13, 2009 Collex, you *do* realize I just posted a Dracula AO, right? ;'D I'd say that this is a job for the Slayer. Oh, and please don't tell me that that *loser* Dracula from the show was the *real* Dracula. *This* is the *real* Dracula ;'D http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/avi_dreader/Dracula.jpg
Collex 0 Posted October 15, 2009 Yep, I do realize that. In fact, I wanted to comment on that. What a coincidence that you posted this AO mere days before I posted Buffy. Mus have been fate. I will probably make my own AO for my Sunnydale Horror mini-expansion, as I began to call it, but yours is a must-try. As for the Dracula from the show, yeah he was pretty much a loser. But he gets more awesome in the season 8 comics where he fight with Buffy because some Japanese vampirs had stolen his powers, and nobody steals from Dracula! However, there is one thing I don,t like about your AO: the picture. From all the kick-ass fan pictures of Dracula out there on the Internet, you chose that lame pseudo-Giger Dracula 3000 one? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. I looked for about half an hour. I'll tell you what, you find me a few good pictures and post the links and if I like one of them, I'll repost an alternate version of the AO with a different picture. You're the second person who's complained to me about the original version of the photo— which I happen to like, but then again, I don't associate it with a movie poster. Really, I mean it. Send me some links to some pictures and if there's a good one, I'll post it. A few ground rules though: It has to be good art (and should probably be in color). It can't be photorealistic (I like pictures that are somewhat in the art style of the game— granted, there is some variation in art styles, but still, if it looks real, I won't use it, realish, maybe). It *definitely* can't be anime. It has to make Dracula look very evil, very sinister, or both. That being said, good hunting ;')
Collex 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Ok, I take the challenge. Don't worry, no anime, I don't quite like the art style myself. To begin with, there is this one. It's very weird but very violent too. I'll continue hunting and give you more link. http://seizuredemon.deviantart.com/art/Dracula-and-his-Brides-68531309 Update: Okay, I finished my 20-minutes hunt. here are all the pictures I've found. All them are of very different art style, with a very different take on the prince of darkness. Of course, you'll have to crop some of them, but that's part of the work. http://media.photobucket.com/image/dracula%20marc%20silvestri/angel-t/steve6-1-2.jpg http://www.majorspoilers.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05a/marvelaugust2008/Dracula_Poster.jpg http://www.hillcity-comics.com/poster_misc/Dracula.jpg http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/77/203818-49603-dracula_super.jpg http://czarine.deviantart.com/art/Young-Dracula-114612715 http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/complete-dracula1.jpg http://bloodedemon.deviantart.com/art/Horror-of-Dracula-89780504 To find them, I did two thing. I first went on deviantart and put "dracula" in the search field. Then I googled "comic dracula" to find some more (or to find some that were on deviantart but in bad quality...) Avi_dreader 64 Posted October 16, 2009 Yeeeeeah.... I'm going to keep the Dracula 3000 picture for myself ;') frankly, all of your pictures (except the first one, which was waaaay too anime the art style does not blend with Arkham) were far less sinister. But I think I'll upload the Dracula with Bloodmoon for you (when I'm at my own computer later) as a thanks for trying :')
Collex 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Yeah, the blood moon was quite cool. As for the first one being anime, You mean the violent one? Yeah pretty much a joke, it was too hardcore. However, you don,t like the Marc Silvestri one (the one with the wings and armored chicks in his arms) Crop it to keep just the wings and face, and that's quite a sinister figure, I believe. Also, it depends what you mean by sinister. For me, Dracula was always a sophisticated man, not a ugly fiendish monster. What I don't like with the Dracula 3000 one is that I find it way to futuristic for my Draculan's taste.

I don't think the traditional Dracula tale quite fits that mold. I was actually very pleased with the scifiesque picture because it complements the portals to other dimensions and the alien beings that appear in Arkham. Okay, I'm going to see what I can do with that Silvestri... One minute. Oooo... That's actually quite nice. I'll post a copy in a couple minutes. Collex 0 Posted October 18, 2009 Wow, I really like it. You get the impression that Dracula is so huge that he hides the moon. Very AO-like, if you ask me. Everyone his favorite, but I'm printing this version. Thanks!

johnwatersfan 7 Posted October 27, 2009 Not that you'd probably be able to find it easily anymore, but there was a Buffy board game created, which was surprisingly entertaining and fun. It's mostly cooperative having four good characters fighting one evil character. The evil characters are The Master, The Judge, The Mayor, and Adam, meaning four different set up scenarios. Anyway, here's the boadgamegeek link: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/805 If you're a fan of Buffy, I'd recommend trying the game out. It's quite simple, but very entertaining. Oh and here's an ebay link: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=buffy+board+game&_sacat=See-All-Categories You can actually get it fairly cheap there it seems. As long as you don't buy one of the copies for $100. People obviously think the game is worth much more than it is because it's out of print. I originally found it for 5 bucks at Toys R Us, and they had about 30 copies. Of course this was several years ago, but I thinkt here were more copies available than people really wanted. AVEC2 2 Posted October 28, 2009 Thanks, johnwatersfan! The game looks cheesy, but it got good reviews. And it's early Buffy, thank god.
Airborne XO 0 Posted October 29, 2009 I may be coming at this a little late in the day but... For our Halloween Spectacular me and the wife have just created a Buffy AH expansion to suprise our friends. The basic fluff-premise is that whilst Willow is performing a spell to give her insight into the 1920s for a History paper it goes wrong. Instead of her getting the conscienceness of the 1920s to draw on what is actually does it transfer the conscienceness of the Sunnydale experiences back to the 1920s giving rise to all the monsters and evil that the scoobys have ever faced and drawing them all to Arkham. With that flimsy premise in place we have made: 50 New monsters including Vampires, Daemons and named villans from the series like Druscilla, Ethan Rayne, Caleb, D'Hoffryn, etc... 6 New AOs including all the big bads from the series - Master, Adam, Trio, First, Mayor Wilkins, Glorificus 8 New investigators - Buffy, Giles, Willow, Xander, Spike, Angel, Wesley and Faith Lehane. 20 New Mythos cards - Drawing on events from the series to give a flavour to the game including rumours (once more with feeling anyone?) and environments as well as headlines. Sunnydale High location and 10 Encounters - Designed to replace a boring stable location that we rarely use (possibly administration building) it is unstable and the New Mythos cards open gates here. 12 New Allies - Oz, Tara, Dawn, Willy, Clem, Joyce, Kendra, Jenny Calendar, Cordy, etc... New Herald: The Hellmouth - it spawns them uber-Vampires from S7. To be honest drawing all the series together meant sense as it gave us a bigger pool to draw on (especially for AOs and creatures) and it supposed to be a laugh for Halloween (I can feel AH purist recoiling). We are playing Saturday night so hopefully all the new stuff will get an airing. If it goes well we may be tempted to do some more! Cheers, Hal
Collex 0 Posted October 29, 2009 Any chance you've got the .eon file stored somewhere? I don't wanna copy your stuff , mind you, I just want to see what you did. For one, I wanna know how you translated Once more with feeling in game terms...
AVEC2 2 Posted October 29, 2009 That's easy. Whatever the investigator does, the player has to sing about it.
