Rockstar2 0 Posted September 9, 2009 Most of the builds i've seen of Steve Fox have been All-symbol based. My idea was a bit different, running a lot of Kazuya's support, and basing him off Chaos. I've found the minor Control elements to be fun, and yet there is plenty of damage pump in here that makes this deck a pretty cool Hybrid deck that goes off as early as T2. Still, i would love some input here. Steve Fox, at least the UFS version, really has become one of my favorite characters! 1x 6/6 Steve Fox 6hs 26vp +0m 5x 6/6 Chaos Characters +0m Actions (3): 3x 2/5 Ascending Zephyr Assets (3): 3x 3/5 ToR: Degredation +2m Attacks (15): 3x 5/3 Blazing Fist 4m4 +2L (punch, Combo) 4x 4/3 Demon Slayer 3h3 +2m (punch) 4x 4/3 Spinning Demon 3L4 (kick, M:1) 4x 4/2 Lion Slayer 4m5 +1h (punch, Combo) Foundations (34): 4x 3/5 Communing with the Ancients 4x 2/5 Maniacal Laughter +3h 4x 2/5 Mishima Family Bloodline +3m 4x 2/5 The Hunt is On 4x 2/5 Boxing is Life 4x 2/5 For the Money +3m 3x 2/5 Mishima Zaibatsu Leader +2h 3x 2/5 Covenant Elder +3m 4x 2/4 Merciless Fighter So, i realize i'm 4 cards shy of a full deck (figuratively and, well...)... Basic premise is to use Chaos Character Cards for blocking, 6-checking and for awesome damage pump via Merciless Fighter. Blazing Fist and Lion Slayer act as potential kill cards, while Demon Slayer (Control printed on an attack? Smartest idea yet for UFS, imho!) is solid on either player's turn. Spinning Demon is a SOLID attack, but it's abiliity to pick up Character Cards from the discard pile is what really makes this card worthwhile! Thoughts?? Ideas?? Comments?? All are welcome!! MarcoPulleaux 0 Posted September 9, 2009 You've done what the other 3 Steve players (me, Alex, Jeremy) haven't experimented with: NON-PUNCH CARDS! o-o-o-o-o-o Looks pretty solid, but it also looks like you're neglecting other Chaos cards. No Controller of Souls? Dude, anti-asset AND might convert your foundation into a punch! Turn your non-block into a block! Treacherous Offspring? Oh look, you checked a punch? No worries, it's momentum to discourage blocking =)
Rockstar2 0 Posted September 9, 2009 I know for a fact that i don't own any Controller of Souls, but, yea...if i did, they would certainly be maindecked. Treacherous Offspring...i LIKE it...i will add this straight away and see how it functions. What might i take out for it? The Asset, or something else?? MarcoPulleaux 0 Posted September 9, 2009 Covenant Elder or Maniacal Laughter While Covenant Elder may SEEM really good, we don't live in a game where control matters, or even really EXISTS (lol@Intolerant of Failure). The list of chars with Responses are as follows: AlgolAstarothCervantesHeihachi MishimaIvyLu ChenNightmarePaul PhoenixZhao DaiyuZi Mei Of those characters, I assure you, using C-Elder against them would only affect people like Cervantes, Heihachi Mishima, Lu Chen, Paul Phoenix. The rest would likely shrug it off, and use their R at another trigger opportunity. As for Maniacal Laughter, it's highly overrated. Yeah, it IS momentum generation, but Steve actually likes knowing wtf his momentum is. I realize one could justify it for Blazing Fists, but 1 Treacherous Offspring = same thing, and 2 that's what Ascending Zephyr's for. So it's up to you. I think Laughter can leave, because while Elder is situational, Laughter really has no place in this deck. In decks like Tira, or ones using Curse of the Ancient Mariner, etc, then maybe, but T-Offspring does what Laughter does better in that checking a punch during attacking or blocking will potentially lead to Steve momentum. Awesome. You and i are on the same page about the same cards.
