heychadwick 11,354 Posted April 16, 2015 Shuttles are great! I don't know what he's talking about. They are cheap, have lots of hull/shield, and are 3 attack dice! What's not to love? I would drop Howlrunner in that setup. She's great for a good number of Tie Fighters, but she gets singled out very fast. I don't see her being much use with only so many ships. You will see some people LOVE her and try to include her in every list they make that has over 4 ships. Personally, I find she dies way too fast to be worth her points. I'd rather take those points and bump all those Tie Fighters up beyond Academy. Dark Curse is a good Tie Fighter and hard to kill. He sticks around to do damage. Backstabber is another great one. He can use his special ability quite a bit. You can always use one Academy as it's great to have some chump to block the enemy up with. Also, there is a whole sub forum for list building and critique. 2 LukesandLadders06 and ficklegreendice reacted to this
LukesandLadders06 34 Posted April 16, 2015 cool. . .. i was thinking of keeping Howlrunner with every one and move it all together and have all ships get a re-roll. . like a giant block of doom. . .. if at all possible. But i like the cut of your jib as well. will play will both lists !! as that is the way to fly. Also, sorry i forgot and got excited. lol 1 heychadwick reacted to this
LukesandLadders06 34 Posted April 16, 2015 Would Vader on the shuttle be a good idea in a list like this? a suggestion of no FCS and swarm tactics would have him riding along.
Far Wanderer 157 Posted April 16, 2015 Vader is great to finish of stuff, especially high agility dice ships. 1 LukesandLadders06 reacted to this

ficklegreendice 34,359 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) shuttles are ******* fun! they just take some getting used to They are incredibly viable not-so-little ships because they're so incredibly stat efficient, its just the dial needs to be incorporated into your flying (and sadly, most of the named pilots need to be ignored) Welcome to the Dark side and since you are flying a shuttle MOO!! dark side cows are the best! heychadwick 11,354 Posted April 16, 2015 Vader is good against ships that are hard to damage. Otherwise you are just hurting your own ship. For Shuttles, it's usually OK to do so. If you are finding your Shuttle getting out of the fight too often, I would recommend Engine Upgrade and Adv. Sensors. What you do is Boost before moving, and then do a 2 sharp turn (red) in the same direction. It's pretty good at turning around. If you know where you are going to turn around, you can also have your ships veer off in that direction. It can get your shuttle back in the fight quicker. If you want a good list that will help teach you to fly some Imperial basics, I've had decent luck with this list: Space Cowboys Omnicron Shuttle w/ adv sensor, Fleet Officer, and Anti Pursuit Lasers Dark Curse Night Beast Backstabber 2 x Academy Pilots The Shuttle will dish out 2 Focus, get stressed, and then do a green maneuver (all in one turn). The Tie Fighters really benefit from a free Focus. It allows them to either barrel roll or evade to help stay alive. It can help teach you how to use the Shuttle and fly Tie Fighters. I think they have great potential for a ship beyond formation flying. I found this list was a bit of a sleeper and did better than expected.
