LanceLiezure 0 Posted September 5, 2009 I just put together King from the new Tekken 6 set. In playing so far, it has been solid, but I'm not sure if it's just perfect yet. I can see some characters (Hilde, Zi Mei) that could just run over it. I don't have a sideboard yet, but the deck looks like this so far. 1x King. Actions4x Ready to Launch Assets3x Jaguar Mask Attacks4x Flinging Half Nelson4x Cobra Clutch4x Cobra Twist4x Hip Buster Foundations4x In Service to Country4x Red Cyclone of Mother Russia4x Battle Prowess4x Hulking Brute4x Huge Wrestling Army4x King of the Ring4x Blinding Rage4x The Glare from the Abyss4x Bloodline Rebellion Some things are self explanatory like Ready to Launch and Jaguar Mask. But I've included a lot of attack buffs (Brute, Army, King, Bloodline) to make sure that my Ready to Launch hits like it should. All of my attacks are throws to ensure that when I run out of attacks I will always have a LOT of choices in the pit. Battle Prowess, Service, Cyclone are for some defense. Blinding Rage is there for Foundation destruction. And the only slot that I'm iffy on is The Glare from the Abyss. It's good, but I just don't know if it fits. The check and control is amazing, but the effect is rarely used. I hardly ever use the first ability on King of the Ring or Bloodline Rebellion, but I couldn't ask for better pumps. Lastly, with my attacks. I've chosen Flinging Half Nelson just because it is AMAZING, and Hip Buster works well with it and King's ability (thanks to a idea from a previous post). Cobra Clutch is just essential for King I think. It wrecks BRTs. Clutch is decent. It can be returned with the Mask which is really nice, but since it's a combo, it loses its low cost by needing to have a throw played before it previously, and I don't know if 3s/3d is worth it for 5 although the ability is really good. One thing I know is that I want to keep all attacks, all throws, all day! Please feel free give me your suggestions, ideas, etc. I am really enjoying this deck so far. LanceLiezure 0 Posted September 6, 2009 Wow... I did not know that. I thought we were still on 4 and 5 point stars for Standard Constructed... or is there a new Block format? I'm still fairly new to this whole constructed thing. So, I'm not 100% sure on everything yet. Is there a Block only, Standard, and Legacy... or how does it work exactly? Kitties_Outcast 0 Posted September 7, 2009 sorta yea...the 3 sets (tekken, soul cal 4, shadowar) have 5 pointed stars.. there are also some promos with said star.. those are the only things that are legal in standard format.. everything else is considered legacy.. Da_ghetto_gamer 0 Posted September 7, 2009 yeah it happened sooner then everyone thought. The game designers didnt like the place where the game was and decided make rotation happen when tekken officially came out instead of feburary like it was normally supposed to. Im pretty sure its all posted in the august state of the game if you want to go back and look at the post that explains it all alot better
LanceLiezure 0 Posted September 7, 2009 Ahh, I missed that post I guess. Up to speed now. I did not realize that was the case. I will be making some changes to King. I'm just glad to know this before I start the October events here... that could have been bad! lol Thanks a lot guys. I will be reposting a new decklist soon. I'll see what everyone thinks of it. guitalex2008 0 Posted September 8, 2009 You may want to keep that list anyway... some scouts want to run events using the old Block 3/4 standard so as to still be abel to use the older cards. And for all it's worth, looks like a nice deck. If you want ideas on how to update it, check out Shadowar for Rashotep support such as:Sandstorm ThrowFlooded-Nile ThrowKa TechniqueUndisputed Ruler Also look for some Ragnar support, such as:BroodingCrushing Embrace of the Jotun (if you're OK with it not having a block)Body Slam And in SCIV, look up Siegfried support in the form of foundations such as: Torn HeroMemories of a NightmareAtoning for his Wicked Deeds And also for some Astaroth support in the form of: Hungry for BattleLaughable (funny to use in King if you have The Entertainer preventing you from drawing) In Tekken well, use King stuff lol
