Cabello 2 Posted April 9, 2015 so say the imperials get the initiative. they go first the first round. when the token flips does the rebs then become first player or does first player stay with the imps all games?
ransburger 256 Posted April 9, 2015 Initiative stays with the first player for the entire game. Check out the initiative section in the Rules Reference Guide
Hida77 951 Posted April 9, 2015 It stays with one person. A lot of people are confused because in the learn to play setup I believe the rules recommend you swap it for that game, which is not usually the case.

I was confused at first in that it is unusual for games with initiative rules to have it always being with one player.

Amraam01 154 Posted April 11, 2015 Initiative stays with the first player for the entire game. Check out the initiative section in the Rules Reference Guide Unless you decide to play unlimited rounds, then it alternates.
Chioxin 37 Posted April 13, 2015 I don't recall the "Learn to Play" version had you flip it per turn. I didn't play it that way, left it with the rebels. However the Learn to Play version does have initiative backwards. Rebels have far more points on the board than the Imperials do, so technically the Imperials should have initiative. However, i assume they give it to the rebels because it honestly makes the game flow better in that players take turns moving ships.

The LTP merely state that you "flip" the token like normal to show which color of squadron markers shows those not activated yet.It is with rebels from the start and stays there. Carpatheon 91 Posted April 16, 2015 At the end of the rulebook there is an alternate way to play. You play unlimited turns till one person is completly wiped out. In this type of game it does specify to swap the initiative token every turn, but you also do not use objectives. For casual gaming this works great, but I guarantee that tourneys wont play that way, simply for time constraints.
Vertrucio 33 Posted April 16, 2015 Yep. In general. If you play without an Objective card, you should swap initiative every turn. Mainly because the Objectives give very clear advantages to the Second Player to offset how much being first all the time affects the game.
