Tinman 0 Posted August 17, 2009 This is a deck I have been playing around with for a while. It is consistant for what I does, and has a decent defensive chance against the decks I've seen so far in my local meta (block 3 excluded). Algol* 6HS 27HP [All, Chaos, Void] 61cards Attacks: 19 3x Alshain Najm 5/3 [All, Chaos, Void] 5H4 Combo +3H 4x Wild Storm 4/3 [Chaos, Evil, Void] 3H4 Weapon 4x Alaraph Achernar 5/3 [All, Chaos, Void] 3M5 Combo +2L 4x Alphard Maliki 4/2 [All, Chaos, Void] 2L6 Throw 4x Execution Technique First Rite [Wind, Chaos, Fire] 3L3 Stun:2 Weapon +2L Actions: 4 4x Frantic Search 3/4 (All, Life, Void) +2H Assets: 10 4x Pseudo-Soul Edge 3/5 [All, Chaos, Void] +3L 4x Pseudo-Soul Calibur 3/5 [All, Chaos, Void] +3H 2x Tower of Remembrance- Degredation 3/5 [All, Chaos, Void] +2M Foundations: 27 4x Ancient Fighting Style 1/4 (All, Chaos, Void) +4M 4x Genius Alchemist 2/5 (All, Life, Void) 4x Researching the Past 2/4 (All, Life, Void) 4x Body of Souls 2/5 (All, Chaos, Void) 4x Communing with the Ancients 3/5 (Air, Chaos, Fire) 4x Seeking Treasure 2/4 (Chaos, Evil, Void) +2H 3x Dread Pirate 2/5 (Chaos, Evil, Void) +3H Attacking: The primary idea here is to use Wild Storm, Genius Alchemist, and Communing with the Ancients to hack my checks to string out attacks. With the Pseudos on the field, as well as the Tower, I can drop foundations to pull more attacks. If I can't pull an attack with that, I can Form with Algol to get a new hand and keep going. Body of Souls to grab ones that deal damage out of my momentum, prioritizing Wild Storms. Dread Pirates to pull my throws if a check goes bad on a non-hacked turn. Researching the Past for its mix with Algol's Form to pull attacks. Surviving: Seeing as how the blocks in this set are harder to come by, Algol has an ace up his sleeve called draw power. With a mixture of blocking with a couple of attacks, responding with the Pseudos, and finally enhancing with Ancient Fighting Style, dropping blockless cards to draw for more is easy. Compared to some of the Block 4 decks I played, my blocking ability seemed to outlast. Early Thoughts: I like the deck, and the constant motion it is in. Attacking 5-6 times with 4-6 damage attacks really gets the job done, exspecially when the opposing player can only block one to two of the attacks. And, if all goes well, ending with a Najn to finish it is very rewarding. I am still working on the foundation base, but I am happy with the asset count, as they are all key to the kill and survivability. Plus they have blocks and good checks. Thoughts, comments? -Tinman
darklogos 0 Posted August 18, 2009 I don't see to many damage pumps but you got some heavy hitting attacks. I think the deck is solid and can take on the Ivy decks that are going to be coming out of the woodwork. The next thing I might say is to try getting a Path of the Master card. I don't have any but from what I see it would be awesome and give you a damage pump.
Tifer 0 Posted September 2, 2009 No Fatherly Love?! Really?
Monkey D. Wolfwood 0 Posted September 2, 2009 needs some POTM. even thought there arent that much symbol only cards but that extra damage pump for the combo attack is sweeter.
forteconcarne 0 Posted September 6, 2009 I'd probably drop Dread Pirate for Fatherly Love or Father's tragedy. You only have one set of two checks in the deck, making Dread Pirate's effect a fair amount less useful than it could be. Father's tragedy, on the other hand can severly increase the amount of cards you have in hand at any time, based on Algol's effect alone. I would also note that Taltah Qarn can help increase the amount of cards you've discarded during the turn, thus powering up your Najm (although this does mean that Najm now follows three cards instead of the normal two) . This in mind, I would also suggest Chasing the Power. It's a card that can be commited at any point to take care of unfavorable checks and is capable of giving a plus two to crucial checks when your field is tapped. good for both offensive and defensive check plusedge
forteconcarne 0 Posted September 6, 2009 Woops, misread Father's tragedy. The effect, though unweildly, still combos well with Qarn to bolster your discarded amount and buff Najm at the end of it all.
Tinman 0 Posted September 6, 2009 Seeing as how I put this deck together before Tekken, I will probably be looking at rebuilding an All-Void version with Tekken stuff in mind. I will be working with that some time soon, and probably posting it. -Tinman

MarcoPulleaux 0 Posted September 8, 2009 You ought to add that build to the main topic, or replace the old one (not sure if you want 2 decks or 1). As for your first build... I realize you're tri-symbol, but do you really need 4 of each asset? Let alone the fact that Algol can dig through his deck for them...
