I decided the neb b's needed a little something. Here is one washed and one unwashed. Makes a huge difference.

I also did the same for my corvettes.

I've wondered about this. What does it take to do this sort of thing? For those of us that don't paint it can be daunting, so does anyone have any tips or can point in the direction of a good wash guide?

I used the Games Workshop Nuln Oil wash.

Washing is the easiest thing in the world. Just use a medium to large brush dip it in the wash, and apply to the model. If its too thick just spread it around with your brush. Just make sure there are no large pools of paint on the model.

If all else fails simply hold the model under running water while the wash is still wet and it will come right off. It takes a wash around 10-20 minutes to fully dry since its mostly water.

Nuln Oil straight from the bottle is OK, just spread it around a bit. You can also tone down how dark it goes on by thinning it with Lamihan Medium 50/50. Don't use water to thin it down or it will dry all patchy.
