So Disney approaches you and asks ....

I'd ask if I could be in charge of making X-men merchandise instead...

I haven't read Heir to the Jedi yet, but every review I've seen says it's really uneven. I had honestly expected that tightening up editorial control over the EU would be the first thing they'd do, but it seems like the same editorial policy is just like the old one.

Probably because it is a holdover from before the buyout. It was the last in a series of 3 Rebellion era books.

I'd ask them to invite the better EU authors to write their new cannon. I was raised on the EU and if HttJ is any indication then my son(20months) already tells better stories.

Yea I want Zahn, Denning, and Allston back (but Allston's dead ;_ ;).

Please no Denning. He already ruined Star Wars for me once. And Zahn isn't exactly at the top of his game anymore.

Admiral Ackbar in X-Wing. I don't care if he's a crew card, a huge ship crew card, a pilot, just put him in the game. Also, don't make his ability trap-like like how he is in the LCG. He noticed the trap, he didn't make the trap. Give him some sort of knowledge-of-your-opponent's-stuff-based ability. Or, give him a support ability to your squad. He was an admiral after all.

How did Denning ruin Star Wars? Every book I've read by him I've loved. (e.g. Star by Star, Crucible etc.)

Tv shows that are ot designed for 6 year olds with the attention span of a gnat.

A new design team that can honour the original feel, or just bring back much of the old one. Dykstra is still working.

Disney hitmen to take out JJ before he finishes and replace him with Joe Johnston.

Some good vdeo games ranging from space combat to bounty hunting. Heck combine them, no reason why not.

The Z-95 redesigned to fit the original description (all around visibility bubble canopy and all)

Just one film or show that deosnt revolve around the bloody Jedi...Just one.

Give me a job

Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi were bad. Granted, Legacy of the Force's issues were mainly because he and Traviss couldn't get on the same page. But Fate of the Jedi, clearly his brainchild. I loved Star by Star, but Denning should not be in charge of the direction of the books.

He made Star Trek into Star Wars, so I trust him.

Turning Star Trek into a cheap Fx sci-fi movie with no story whatsoever isn't turning it into Star Wars.

Oh, is that what he did?  I thought he turned Star Trek into a big budget action-oriented science fiction movie that is light on the science and heavy on the fiction, one which deals with the emotional motivations of characters rather than rational science, and which borrows from elements of the buddy comedy in the relationship between Kirk and Spock.  My mistake.

That video is hilarious.  And I particularly liked how they showed the connections to classic Star Wars shots with the shots in that movie.  Didn't realize how close some of them were.

Neither did I until I watched it. I cannot unsee it when I watch the new Star Trek movies now.

Well, maybe a bit more obvious, but the beginning of Star Trek: Into Darkness is a pretty straight rip-off of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark's intro scene with the being chased through the jungle, jumping into water, flying away type stuff.

This will raise a new level of debate .. but the primary audience for Clone Wars and Rebels are children. I tried watching them, I really wanted to like them .. but failed. They're too cutesy and far from my perception of the SW universe that was built in the 70's and 80's. (A lot of EU falls into this category too - Droids and Ewoks included).

Spinny lightsabres, sling shots, pink tie fighters and huge aliens flying tie fighters upside down whilst hanging from the flight yolk by their feet ... AWESOME!! .. If you're a kid.

It is wonderful that the developers are making SW accessible and attractive to the younger generation, it is also wonderful that older fans can enjoy them too ... but for some of us .. it's total nonsense.

Isn't it the same team that did The Clone Wars that is writing Rebels?

Somewhat. But I think the key difference is the lack of Lucas. Lucas is why the Clone Wars wasn't really a kid's show towards the end.

It had horrible dialogue, bad character development, horrible plot. Honest trailers is the dead truth.

2009 not so much, but Into Darkness is worse than TMP
