brislove 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Basically I have been reading cards, and from my limited play exp (2 games, get in there) and talking with Eithinis about general ideas I have put this list together. I'm looking to be competetive, without further ado.... Work In Progress Void/Fire 70Attacks: 154 Kuzuryu Reppa4 Heel Snipe3 Sardine’s Beach Special 4 Lynx Tail Foundations: 454 Manifest Destiny 3 a new low4 no memories3 Amy’s Assistance4 White magic 3 Evil Plans4 Fight or Flight4 Blinding Rage4 martial arts champion4 THE KING OF FIGHTERS 20063 Empire’s Ruin3 hope for one’s people2 Admiration Assets 33 Lynette's Shop Actions: 74 Seclusion3 Kung-fu training Edit: Down to 70. and no more banned cards. Still trying to not die, and presumably kill people with sardine's. Does lynx tail really fit It's good with fight or flight, but doesn't seem needed beyond that? guest446545 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Olcadan's Mentoring is now banned. As for the rest, I'm just wondering : why Evil Plans without Transference? Otherwise, not much to say ^^
Yoko Charming Fox 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Nekuro said: Olcadan's Mentoring is now banned. As for the rest, I'm just wondering : why Evil Plans without Transference? Otherwise, not much to say ^^ I think he is running Evil Plans without Transference because he plans to use Akuma's R on his own attack and then Evil Plans it. If your looking to take some card out I would probably lose the Manafest Destinys because Akuma's E is really all the commiting power you need, and I don't think you really need to run 4 Blinding Rages and 2 Maki High Nobles now that Olcadan's Mentoring is banned. Also I'm not sure if you are going to be able to boost speed enough to really benifit that much off Admiration. Over all it seem like a good deck, but it really can hurt to run over 60 card so you might want to try to take some stuff out. BTW I agree A New Low and Akuma is amazing. brislove 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Admiration has the added benefit of gaining health off of enemy attacks, however it might still not be worth it. if I cut lynx tail, i'll definetely cut admiration's also (at least 2) thanks for pointing out Olcadan's. too good to be true, probably banned :-p Transferance might sneak in here, but I'm not really a beatdown deck. Evil-plans is more of a counter to BRT then a damage pump (though it works as one in a pinch). I'll make a couple changes, such as removing banned card >_> and update the post in a minute Decklist updated in the main post. down to 70 cards. Thoughts on getting to 60 are -4 blinding rage -4 Lynx Tail -2 Admiration -1 Manifest Destiny -1 Kuzuryu Reppa +2 Makai High Noble It just seems like with akuma, it's not as much a % of cards that are foundations, as much as simply having more foundations then your opponent. which is why I like the idea of blinding rage and running a thicker deck so that if my stuff gets nuked, I generate a ton of advantage from it. Rockstar2 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Yea...this deck tries to do too many things right now. I would really pick one or two ideas and then just run with those. Here's a suggestion... -4 Admiration...Admiration is reliant upon Speed Hacking attacks, and with the exception of Empire's Ruin, i don't see anything else that boosts or negs spd. -2 Makai High Noble...you're already running Blinding Rage. This is unnecessary. Pick either or foundation and run 4 of your choice. -3 Evil Plans...Nice little idea to hack your own attack and the R with Evil Plans. However, i think this trick, while neat, isn't strong enough to warrant maindecking 3 EPs w/Transference. Either add Transference, or move Evil Plans to sideboard. Have to look at your deck again before making other suggestions, but here...you now have cut 9 cards and made your deck much more efficient, imo. guest446545 0 Posted July 13, 2009 The trick of reacting to your own attack with Evil Plans does look neat (even though you say it's for BRT), but that CCHax is often good to use to stop blocks, although with your Sardines out I'm not sure stopping blocks is needed. I'd go with RockStar's opinion though : either move EP out or add Transference
KawaiiMistress 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Is there a reason lynx tail should be in there?
brislove 0 Posted July 13, 2009 not really, It was in there simply to up the attack count % wise when the deck was 76 cards, as the deck shrinks I think the extra attack is way less important.
brislove 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Ok here is an updated 60 card version, based on the comments presented here. I dropped Evil plans, I will likely move it to the SB for decks with a lot of hacks. Akuma (Starter) Work In Progress Void/Fire 60Attacks: 103 Kuzuryu Reppa4 Heel Snipe3 Sardine’s Beach Special Foundations: 404 Manifest Destiny3 a new low4 no memories3 Amy’s Assistance4 White magic4 Fight or Flight4 Blinding Rage4 martial arts champion4 THE KING OF FIGHTERS 20063 Empire’s Ruin3 hope for one’s people Assets 33 Lynette's Shop Actions: 74 Seclusion (need 2)3 Kung-fu training
Dams3 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Nice first deck but where are SoC and Dead for One Thousand Years ? I think you can change your Amy assistance for Stand off, it's crazy with Akuma. For your attack line up, I'll cut 1 Heel Snipe and maindeckbody of Souls to have some recursion. Where is The Evil Door destroyer because another Enhance destroyer is really helpfull. Tuesday2 0 Posted July 15, 2009 don't whatever you do cut amy's, people are still defender looping (esp with victor) don't play hope for on'es people, its really not a very good card, would personally put evil plans back in for it as that card is just too good in the currant enviroment
brislove 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Thanks for your input. here are my current reasonings. Stand Off: I'm not much of a beatdown deck, and with akuma's First-E I felt that amy's performed the defensive function better. Still a good suggestion, and i'll certainly play around with it a bit. Dead for one 1000 years/Body of souls/evil doer destroyer: are non attack non fire cards. currently the only times I would want to play them is on attacking turns (which is usually poor as I'm hoping that I just kill people when I attack) or off of a new low. which might be reasonable for a 1x evil-doer but probably not for the foundations. I am running a pure fire foundation base, chaining off void is rough business. SOC, I pretty much just have these slots resigned to kung-fu training. it RFGs for the react, but other then that, not super different, and with akumas first E it can make attacks pretty unblockable a lot of the time. If i was tri-symbol I would want seal to chain off death, but I'm not...yet. hope for one's people is primarily a 0 control foundation, I'm not stressing on the txt too much, but I like evil plans so I'll have to play around with getting it back in there.
