Imperial Decimator+ Phantom, Not yet dead?

So I played the expose Admiral and it was a ton of fun, if not always the best pair to be flying around. Then I came up with this.

No initiative bid, but I think it could still work really well to the same effect. AT are a pain, but 4-5 Dice being thrown with a TL, could still lay some hurt

I played a decimator buzz saw whisper build in two store championships and made top 8 in both but found that if whisper died too early the decimator just died to quickly under focused fire to pull out the win

I've been running VI on Chiraneau so he can fire into Rebel Captive before whisper and Tactician with him as well to mess with other phantoms (VI + EU) and all the PTL thats running around. Plus Tactician helps keep other ship movement more predictable which is hugely beneficial.

I don't really think Scum did much to the wave 5 meta or more specifically, this specific, "Look I have a Fat Turret AND a Phantom watch me autowin to top 8" build, except for Feedback Array swarm.

So until that becomes a mainstay in the meta, this isn't going anywhere.

There is really not much in Scum that counters loaded Decimators besides Twin IGs with Manglers.

 

To the OPs list, its not bad. I just rather run Predator on the Admiral. My experience with Opportunist is that it can be hard to get it to go off without some sort of action restriction, Wes, Carnor, etc. A lot of times, your opponent will just make sure they hold onto their token. Now Whisper pumping them with 4-5 dice might cause them to spend it. Maybe a decent use for it.

sure there is. Decimators fall to enough ships with a halfway decent jousting value and Scum has plenty of those.

 

They have less, however, to counter Whisper but they aren't completely helpless (feedback, auto-blasters, PS 10 Boba, PS 9 Xizor, mux etc.)

The real strength of that list is that things that are effective against  one of those ships generally aren't a problem for the other.
