Ghaarkhans Charge

Recommended Posts

Charge itself is not an attack, so it does not require LOS. Charge grants you an attack during the special action.

Additionally, the attack that it allows is optional, you are not required to attack.

Yes, his first action can be Charge and his second action can be a standard attack. Remember that heroes in a campaign are not subject to an attack limitation, but you can only use each special action once per activation.

Also, you can spend strain to gain movement points, use them, then charge, then attack again...if you've got enough strain and victims.

In other words "It's vibro-axin' time!"

Do terrain and figures still effect the movement granted by charge?

No, they never did. Charge allows you to move a number of spaces not gain movement points. So you are not slowed down by enemy figures or difficult terrain. You can't cross walls or impassable terrain though.

Yes, but in the rules under movement it has a sub bullet that says "Move X spaces" in which it says terrain and units do matter. I don't have the rule book in front of me at the moment so maybe someone else can quote it directly?

Move X Spaces:
If an ability moves a figure a listed number of spaces, this movement ignores movement point costs. All other effects of terrain and figures apply (for example the figure cannot end its movement in another figure’s space). When moving in this way, a large figure’s base cannot rotate and must retain its orientation.

So you ignore movement point costs such as the extra point it costs to move through hostile figures or difficult terrain. But you cannot end your move in the same space as another figure and you cant ignore other terrain features like impassable terrain or walls.

I'm not sure if "move x spaces" does or does not differentiate between being moved and moving, because imo there should be a difference.

because I just reread the rules and the FAQ, you guys are correct, so for me, Gharkaan got even better.

Q: Does “Move a number of spaces equal to your speed” follow
the same rules as “Move X spaces?”
A: Yes.
