Study out of Cornell University regarding safest places to be if/when a Zombie Apocalypse occurs

Recommended Posts

As we live a short distance from the Canadian Rockies, my spouse and I had planned to make a break for the high country to get away from people and the risen dead if (when!) a Zombie Apocalypse breaks… but now that our plan has been shared with the whole **** world, looks like we'll have to fight more people and zombies out there. Still, I'm sure I'll be happier dying in the woods than in the chaos of the big city when the ZA occurs...

Nice to know the academics are looking into this, isn't it?

I hear various government militaries (including the Canadian military) use "Zombie apocalypse" scenarios to plan defenses. It allows them to simulate a relentless, innumerable, vaguely human enemy as well as putting soldiers in a position where supply lines are restricted or cut off entirely.  As an added bonus, it allows them to avoid naming any particular foreign country as "the invader," which helps to save face if any parts of the scenario are accidentally leaked.

Alien invasion is another popular one, to simulate an intelligent opponent with an overwhelming technological advantage.
