Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) This is going on my TIE Interceptor fighter pilot leather jacket I'm in the process of making. Hopefully, it will be ready by the time of my local store championship. UnfairBanana 2,251 Posted March 4, 2015 I would like it even more if the Aurebesh was proper... 4 Slugrage, benbaxter, Ravaga and 1 other reacted to this
Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 4, 2015 I would like it even more if the Aurebesh was proper... I had that option, but chose to go with the English to make it more intelligible to non-total nerds. Maybe that was a bad call considering I'm making myself a fighter pilot jacket for a made-up TIE interceptor group, but that was my reasoning. 4 jme, BojambaMcMamba, mazz0 and 1 other reacted to this

The way it's done, it has that Star Warsy flavor while being legible to the beta-nerds. 1 Budgernaut reacted to this
GrimDeath58 95 Posted March 4, 2015 The High Galactic alphabet was a form of writing in the galaxy. While not as commonly used as Aurebesh, this alphabet was frequently used in signatures and by nobles, and was often associated with snobbery High Galactic is just English to us. So it makes more sense that elite patch be done in HG. Like, as in our world, lots of patches have Latin. 1 UnfairBanana reacted to this

Baron Soontir Fel 640 Posted March 4, 2015 This is awesome. How did you turn the picture into a patch? I've got a Rogue Squadron patch, but now obviously need this as well.
Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 4, 2015 This is awesome. How did you turn the picture into a patch? I've got a Rogue Squadron patch, but now obviously need this as well. If you want one, I had to order a minimum of 3, and I only need one, so if you PM me your address when I get them, I'll mail one of them to you for free. 2 Baron Soontir Fel and jme reacted to this

Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 4, 2015 Where did you have this done, if I may ask? A patch company called The Studio. It's a little expensive, and has been kind of a hassle to deal with, but they've done a great job on the finished product (from the image they sent), and they're very good at communicating. http://www.thestudio.com 1 jme reacted to this
ArdusKaine 359 Posted March 4, 2015 Is there any way you could communicate with them to keep that image as an available patch on their website? That is awesome and I would be highly interested in ordering one. Or taking freebies
Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 4, 2015 I don't know about whether they can "save" it or not, but I'm looking at maybe increasing my order since so many people have been PMing me about them. If I did that, I'd have to get something for them, because I'm a grad student and not wealthy, but I'd be willing to increase the order to get these out to people. Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 4, 2015 I've upped my order to 7 of these, so if you want one, send me a PM, and we can work something out. Who knows, maybe I could trade for more minis? 3 Baron Soontir Fel, Mikael Hasselstein and Punning Pundit reacted to this

Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 12, 2015 So, uh, bank error in my favor? Somehow, instead of 7 of these things they sent me 21 of them. So, if you want one, just PM me and I'm sure we can work something out. I have no need for 21 181st fighter group patches, though it is kind of cool to have a giant stack of them sitting in front of me. 1 Mikael Hasselstein reacted to this

Nightshrike 1,810 Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) So tempting! The 80s child in me can't help but conceive of them as the stack of pizza discs used by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza launcher wagon my brother had when we were little. DariusAPB 6,925 Posted March 12, 2015 For a patch I might have to get a custom one done for the 128th. Recon all the way!
