so what are you doing with your M3-A Interceptors?

Played one game with 4 ions and Laetin with mangler. It was really fun to play.

Had bad rolls all game so not sure how competitive this would be. I'll definitely try it again.

Laetin survives for end game to cause trouble with those crits.

So far mine are stored in my case, due to weather I didn't get them until less than 24hrs before my store championship. Next week though......

I actually saw two squads at store champs that were Scum, both squads were four M3-A's.

what do you all feel is the best load out for them? I'm so tempted to throw steal device on them.....cannons are mixed. I feel a mix of ions and maglers or manglers and fletchett cannons would be ideal for a squad of four M3-A's

I plan on using Laetin with Stealth Device and Mangler as an outlier.  I think he/she will be fun to stay out of things and blast away.

 

Other than that, I will use them like Tie Fighters.  Cheap filler for lists that need something maneuverable.  

 

I have thought about this, though:

Only bought one to fufill a free shipping condition on $100 purchases or more, since the shipping would have cost the same as the Scyk :P

 

 

I see the Scyk perhaps appropriately in the same way as the one Interceptor that I own. Given my complete distrust of green dice, it's probably going to end up the sole Scyk in my collection but see repeated use once I settle on a pilot I like.

 

Since my area was nothing but ******* Whisper, Soontir became my go to guy. I don't think either named Scyk will play quite the same role, but Serissu will at least see one game as reverse howlrunner and I'll try turning Laetin into scum's Tarn Mision :D

 

 

I would field this ship in multiples if it could run auto-thrusters, but alas

I bought 4 the other day, but havn't really tackled a scum list yet. I have a feeling I can make a great use of them as support for a Firespray though.

This is how they currently feature in my scum theory lists. 1-2 carrying either ion or mangler. I best like them in my list that features Kath, Dru, and two cartels.

At today's store championship in Denver, I know 2nd place out of 25 ran a 3 M3-A swarm with 2 Z's.  I'm not sure what the exact build was, but I know it took down an 8 TIE swarm.

 

I don't think people are giving the scyk enough credit yet, but they will.

I'm going to try out two Tansarii Veterans with predator, stealth, and mangler backing up Guri. No idea how well it will do.

 

I like making lists that are all the same PS.

So here are some builds

  • Ecenomic. Naked Cartel space as a squadron filler.
  • Agility Squadron Cartels with stealth device and the two named pilots  to add evades.
  • Interceptor Put engine upgrade for the boost with PTL on the Tsari Vets. Add Seressue for more agility.
  • Not so Glass Cannon Shield Upgrade title and HLC or Mangler.
  • Hunter/Trapper Run in pairs with cannons one with ion other with flechette.

I've seen a couple people running the Cartel Spacer with Mangler. It's probably most comparable to the Alpha Squadron Pilot, trading boost and the extra range 1 attack die for boatloads of crits and a better range 3 attack. They're probably the Scum's best option for a cheap flanker.

So far I plan on using a Scyk swarm for fun just to see how well it can do.

Going with

Serissu: determination "heavy scyk" interceptor, stealth device , mangler cannon.

Mangler cannon x3

Could be fun. But will more than likely use my Scyk's for escorts to my Firesprays.

I'm using two Tansari Point veterans with HLC and Predator along side IG-88D.

Difficult choice for the enemy if they are to go for the slow-rolling Scyks or the Agressor. Either way, if left alone one of my two elememnt can really hurt the enemy. If they leave IG for last he is one awesome closer. If they go for him from the start, he can stay in there long enough to give the Scyks several good HLC shots.
