Nephlim24 30 Posted February 27, 2015 So really I need all sorts of help because I'm not sure where to take this I know I like IG B and C over the rest and with the silly amount of green on the dial ptl seems like a must anyways this is what I have right now. IG-88 94 points PILOTS IG88-B (47)Aggressor (36), Push the Limit (3), Fire-Control System (2), “Mangler” Cannon (4), IG-2000 (0), Autothrusters (2) IG88-C (47)Aggressor (36), Push the Limit (3), Fire-Control System (2), “Mangler” Cannon (4), IG-2000 (0), Autothrusters (2) So at first I put Proximity mines on both of them because its a pretty sweet deal, especially for a lot of the aces that are going to be flying around with autothrusters. but then i thought hey why not throw ions on them. Idk thoughts and help are welcome
blade_mercurial 2,091 Posted February 27, 2015 My currently fave dual Aggressor build uses ions. I've been vascillating between A or C to run along with B. So: IG88A or C w/ PtL, FCS, mangler & ion, IG2000 & autothrusters IG88B w/ same Its worked really well so far. Ion basically auto-beats decimators and with B's gunner effect, the ion+mangler is deadly vs. phantoms too (if you get phantom in arc of both aggressors). It might struggle against swarms...haven't seen that yet, but I like it.

Generally, I try to be range 3 for the first round of fire. So if I can do that without boost, then I'll focus+evade. Sometimes though, there's an opportunity to hit range 3 with a boost when the opponent might not expect it if they are not familiar with how much ground a large base can cover, so then its boost+focus. However, there are times when you might be able to pull off an advantageous S-loop next turn, so I don't want stress the turn before, so if I see that possibility I won't use PtL to keep the option open. When I shoot, its almost always ion first (no one wants to get ioned so they spend their tokens usually). If the ion misses, then I have TL for the mangler follow-up. Against rebel captive, or some other stress builds, then I only PtL if I think it will keep significant damage off or I'm really confident I won't be taking stress (for example, against rebel captive, whatever Aggressor you plan to shoot first does NOT use PtL, but the other one can PtL if they both have a shot) Have to say though, the Aggressor has a bit of a learning curve - its different than other large based ships due to forward firing arc only, and although fast, it lacks a straight 4 (which would've been nice!). Makes for a refreshing change though. Hope that helps! 1 Budgernaut reacted to this
Nephlim24 30 Posted March 1, 2015 Boost is something I plan on doing often with the ptl because the boost also gets me an evade with IG-C then I can focus or target lock depending on where I am and where the enemy is.
