Scum - Another "I want your opinion post" :-)

Hi folks,

just tried out a combination, that was fun to play and did not completely suck ;-) (even though my flying did a bit)

 

3 Elites in Old Ships (100/100)

Z-95: N'dru Suhlak (17 + 9)
+ Lone Wolf (2)

+ Engine Upgrade (4)
Y-wing: Kavil (24 + 12)
+ Push the Limit (3)

+ Unhinged astromech (1)
HWK-290: Dace Bonearm (23 + 15)
+ Ion Cannon Turret (5)
+ Recon Specialist (3)

and yes, I love the EU and yes if i could I would give PTL and the Unhinged (or if was Rebel-build, the R2) to every ship - just because I find them universally helpful - unless you like stress and to be stuck in one place. Even though I feature two  turrets in here, the EU got me out of the enemy's firing arcs more than once.

Great thing about the build I found was, that all 3 pilots come at skill "7" - very forgiving!

 

In the 2nd match I played, the HWK was the Killer, ioning a firespray and gnawing it away, which it did before with a tie interceptor.

N'dru I have to learn to fly a bit - the loner did not perform to the max of what he could, due to my not keeping the others away from him - live and learn.

Kavil I found incredibly impressive, it felt almost like flying an A-Wing with the PTL and the Unhinged. - only more sturdy. I always missed a combination like that with the Rebel Y-Wings.

 

So I am curious about thoughts. I am aware that it's only 3 ships and that they are a bit fragile (but agile ;-) )

I hadn't considered PTL and unhinged. That is a great combo. However, you will have to thrown unmodified attacks if you boost. I'll have to try it.

P.rockets are ok with N'Dru. Cluster are better but you're stuck on points.

I like the EU on Dace. It gives him some flexibility since he'll be doing green almost every round.

So I like all the parts of the list but done know if it will have enough HP or firepower to win consistently.

You could drop any of them for 2x M3As or Z95s to get more HP. Drop Dace and P.rockets for 2x mangler scyks. Drop N'Dru, trade recon for K4, and lose Moldy Crow for two bandits with feedback or switches.

Actually Firepower wasn't to bad, as N'Dru and Kavil can get there 4 dice and Dace has it's 2 hits guaranteed (if it's not a complete miss) and hampers mobility significantly, but I will have to test that more thoroughly, too. I thought about the mangler skycs myself... I just like the Z95 and YWings more :-)

Zs are roughly Tie Fighter levels of durable, so I definitely wouldn't drop anything more than lone wolf on N'dru

 

Considering the cheapest 3 offense pilot is the 18 point Avenger (or Backstabber if you get out of arc) a 19 point 3 die offense headhunter with re-rolls is pretty boss, not so much when he starts becoming a juicier and juicier target

I would drop the hawk and EU on the Y wing to pick up kath and put an EU on him. 

In other words, you don't think its gonna work at all :lol: Kath would definitly have more oomph to it... I just like the hawks so much. I'll consider it. thx

 

I would think N'Dru would die pretty fast.  Whenever I've gone with named Z-95's, they tend to die fast.  They are just too easy to take down. 

 

Zs are roughly Tie Fighter levels of durable, so I definitely wouldn't drop anything more than lone wolf on N'dru

yep. I am fully aware of the very low blowup threshhold... I was hoping to have him flexible enough with the EU to see a few rounds with him - after all the phantom is as fragile :P:ph34r::rolleyes: thx!

so far the ywing has to take the least criticism. I think he is a keeper :)

Hey, it's a neat idea even if I don't exactly find it to be efficient (I will miss R4 aggro)

 

as for fragile phantoms, I don't think Whisper got the memo <_<
