Scum and Villiany podcast?

Recommended Posts

I found Nova Squadron Radio about three weeks ago and listened to 26 episodes already. Must have been clocking about 3 hours a day, maybe more, but I have a reasonably long commute and always try to take a lunch break :-)

I'm going to start listening to the Scum & Villainy back catalogue soon. I think these podcasts are great for newer players like myself and have been recommending them to fellow newer players I know. So please do release them - hopefully you can find a willing editor...

Yeah, I did pretty much exactly the same thing when I started getting into the game in a big way about six months ago. Nova Squadron and Scum & Villainy are to a large extent responsible for the mumblemumble quid I've spent on X-Wing this year. So... thanks?

Fruit is part of the deal?! And here I thought the pay was "awful". Glad to hear you boys will be up and running again. I check almost every day for a new episode... :(

We are in talks right now trying to update the show and figure out a more regular schedule. The random schedule was nice in the beginning but I think we want to be more regular now.  We have more members so we should be able to get a regular quorum together to talk X-Wing. I think this will be better for fans and for us.

I just want to say thanks to all the podcast teams for the work they put in.  It is greatly appreciated and enjoyed.  I didn't start playing until this past February, but I went through all the back episodes of S&V, Nova Squadron, and Kessel Run and enjoyed all of them!

Just because it is old, doesn't mean it's not entertaining.  Publish them anyway!

We'd love for someone to volunteer to be our sound editor!  Pay: awful.  Hard benefits: non-existent.  Soft benefits: INTERNET FAME.

I have a raw audio file of our latest episode which has been collecting dust since Ricky's marriage/honeymoon.

PM me if interested.

filled! the new guy is ... drum roll ... Antigrapist!

Man, that was quick. I wish somebody had pinged this thread 2 months ago.

I look forward to downloading the next podcast...tomorrow ;-P

Looks like Alex is more then half way done with some of the editing, so maybe we will finally get one of these old episodes out soon.

Tomorrow??  :D

(Coming from a guy who has run out of stuff to list to on his commute to and from work)

Hey everyone!  We're recording on Wednesday and are going to do another Versus segment, where we take lists submitted by the community and match them up against each other.

If you are interested in having a list taken for a spin, please submit it here!

Here is one I've been running for a couple of months:

Scum:

Kath Scarlett + Tactician + Predator + Inertial Dampners

Torkil Mux + Recon Specialist + Blaster Turrent

Palob + Moldy Crow + Blaster Turret + Predator

I know its weak point is swarms, but it is murder against high PS two to three ship builds.

An interesting Keyan build interaction that I have had a lot of success with but don't hear much talk about is Keyan + Squad Leader + Exp Interface. My most recent and current favorite build with this is:

Keyan + Squad Leader + Exp. Interface

Leebo + Determination + Recon Specialist + HLC + Outrider

Prototype + Chardaan Refit

Question: does it have to be released stuff, or can we include some fully spoiled cards also?  For example can I have Horton Salm packing a TLT.

Corran Horn

Ptl AS

R2-D2

Engine

Stressbot title Y

Title Y with generic r2 or Prox mines

This list hands you free wins against a lot of 2-ship lists. IG or IG/firespray lists just fall apart under the stress and can't deal with bumper-Corran in the end-game or at the start. It has a better-than-even shot against almost every turret list. 50/50 against rebel and imperial swarms.

It's nonsensically easy to play at a competitive level. I can't seem to convince anyone to try it, but I'm telling you...a mediocre player using this list with only 2-3 practice games can probably make a cut at a fairly large regional.

thanks for the lists everyone!  @Taste, that list is interesting; does it have enough stress to shut down a big boosting vt95?  when I fly stress lists I tend to overkill the stress mechanic (ie stresshog and two stress blues) to make sure I can pin those fat #%^'s down.

That Corran build can solo every build of decimator. If you focus/evade then only an insane string of bad luck can bring him down. If the Y's ever get it in arc they shred it really fast. Vader crew and buzzsaw whisper are a threat in combo(this is the hard counter I caught in elimination), but not much else.

Against Fel/chirpy you can win about 80% whether the Y's go after Fel or Chirpy. Just pick the one that's easier to guarantee.
