Let's Make This the Last Thread About the Scum & Villainy Release Date

Recommended Posts

I manage a comic and game store. I have access to a number of different distribution channels. Everything I have access to tells me that Scum & Villainy will be released (at least in the US) on February 24th, 2015.

Let's all agree that this will be the last thread regarding the release date of Scum & Villainy, okay? Thanks.

HA! Fat chance!

When it comes off The Boat, there are going to be at least two threads, started within ten seconds of one another, about S&V coming off the boat. And when they do this thread will be three pages down.

You will not defeat The Internet. You can't stop the signal.

Even when the signal is incoherent.

Especially when the signal is incoherent.

:P

We may not get a status change till after release.

Rebel aces were on the boat then next day in the stores.

Sometimes things just don't get updated

And what is so bad about letting the last scum release thread remain the last scum release thread.  How does it make sense to create a duplicate thread to combat making duplicate threads?  Just saying.

Also, by what correlation does an Atlanta warehouse have control over when a West coast ship gets unloaded?  I don't mean that question to be condescending.  I am asking because I don't know.  Is this warehouse owned by FFG?  If not how did they get this information?  If so, well then that's even worse considering FFG's history with accurate release dates.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your input as a retailer and do put it in high regards, but other retailers are quoting different dates.  How are your sources any better than theirs?

All fair questions, to be sure. I'll try to answer some of them.

First off, I created this thread as I was seeing a lot of other threads regarding the release dates, all with conflicting information in it. I checked multiple distribution sources, and all say the same date -- 2/24/15 -- as the release date. I felt this was qualification enough to post a thread with the "definitive" release date included.

Next, the screenshot I used is from a very large distributor, with multiple branch locations across the country. Michigan to Florida, Massachusetts to Washington state. There are two locations covering California. There is even a location serving Hawai'i. I checked each warehouse location, and each showed the same date as the release date. I hope you'll take my word for this, as opposed to wanting me to post several more screenshots.

Finally, I don't know that my sources are necessarily "better" than any other retailers out there, but when three or the largest distributors of gaming products all agree on the date of a product's release, it's pretty safe to assume that this is indeed the release date. I find it to be especially true of these companies in particular, as I have dealt with them for years now.

I appreciate your civil discourse on the matter, and I hope I clarified my position. If you have other questions, I'll be happy to do my best to answer them.

Please, no more screen shots!  It is nice to hear that multiple distributers are saying the same thing.  But you have to admit, you got to be brave when giving specific dates for FFG.

Haha, yeah, absolutely. I've never complained about FFG's schedule, because I'd rather have the game be good and right, instead of good enough and right now.

I put it on the line, but I'm confident that my distributors (and FFG) are gonna come through for me here.

Besides, who cares what the "actual" date is.

Because... whatever date it gets to the distributors, it'll take a few more days to get out to the FLGS'es, a day or two to be received/unpacked/sorted, and then no matter what, it'll take me at least a few more days to get my schedule lined up to get to the store to pick them up, since I'm a cheap bastard and won't pay for shipping charges if I don't need to.

So... yeah. It'll be here when it's here, and not a gosh darn day earlier.
