Gadge 4,294 Posted February 4, 2015 I noticed on one of the uk FB forums that a player had found out that the interior 'gift holder' tray of lego advent calenders is *perfect* for storing small ships. If you take the black tray out of its card sleeve you've 24 'pockets' for small ships to stand in, along with alternate base chits, shield, stress, action tokens etc. if you put them on one height peg they also stack up. At home we keep all our xwing ships in a small cabinet in the living room but were running out of space. I also kept all evade, focus, stress, TL and the like seperately bagged up so it took a little time getting the right bits out for each ship. Now things are a lot neater and faster as I have one tray for rebels, one for imperials, one for scum and villainy ships (or those rebel ones that can be S&V at the mo) and an 'overspill' tray. I was lucky enough to ask for spare trays from friends who had lego advent calendars but worth remembering if you see any reduced in price or being binned after having the contents removed. Squark 2,555 Posted February 4, 2015 Huh. And here I thought this thread would contain instructions for creating your own storage using lego. Kind of disapointed. 1 UnfairBanana reacted to this
Gadge 4,294 Posted February 5, 2015 Well its not hard to make a box out of lego is it whereas *this* takes some thought and imagination. As you can see here hwks and B wings need to come off their stands, most other rebel ships slot right in and imperial ones.. no issues at all
rym 211 Posted February 11, 2015 That's how I store my ships, as well. My little boy loves Legos - and Star Wars - and receives a SW advent calendar every year, of which I promptly make use of the storage tray. I just put the ships on the pegs in the trays only, though. Dials, tokens, etc. are in Plano boxes. 1 Gadge reacted to this
Gadge 4,294 Posted February 11, 2015 I find keeping the full compliment of tokens needed for the basic ship with them in the try speeds set up immensely. Need an ewing? Just take everything out of that compartment and you're ready to go. All you have to do is select a pilot card and changer base chit. I used to keep eveything bagged up, like a bag with 40 focus tokens, 30 evades etc.... opening up five or six bags and picking out say five shields out of one took a lot longer. 1 Robin Graves reacted to this
