Ecthelion2005 0 Posted June 26, 2009 What happens if someone attack an area containing only a assist unit? Can the assist unit fight? if so can i use normal combat cards fighting with the small numbers or must i took a random one from the combat deck? Event cards There are several cards that give +2 Health at the start of the battle. Can i use several of them at the same battle ? In my last game one Terran player had two +2 event Health cards and one Bunker card. He used all of them in the same battle !!!

Just try to survive! (or use auto-splash with defiler ) 2) You can only play one "start of battle" ability per combat, including event cards, tech cards, etc... I was surprised when I red that second point in the rulebook. Finally, it makes sense for thoses circumstances.

(or use auto-splash with defiler ) I always thought that the assist unit plays/draws a normal combat card, but since there are no combat cards for assist units he takes automaticaly the lower attack and defend capability. So If you're very luck you could destroy a weak opponent. Or doesn't the assist unit gain an attack capability, because he can't attack neither ground nor air units? blarknob 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Assist units have no attack capabilities so the only value on the combat card that matters is the defense.
bi0bi0 0 Posted July 16, 2009 but can i declare an attack with only one assist unit (im the attacker)
EMELT 0 Posted July 17, 2009 Yes you can attack with just an assist unit. You might be inclined to do this if the defender would only have assist units in the area, so you could "win" the area. Most assist units would not have attacks where they would be able to kill each other (exception being some of the zerg assist unit powers like Spawn Broodling and Plague) and thereby invoking the "defender only has assist units remaining, so the defender must retreat" rule. EMELT 0 Posted July 20, 2009 The rules on Pages 33-35 of the base game describe combat capabilities of units based on the icons shown on the faction cards for the different units. For the assist units, none of them have the ground attack capability icon or air attack capability icon shown, so they can't affect another unit dirrectly with combat values. This is why the combat card is only used for the health value for an assist unit in the front line.
