TIE Pilot 3,501 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I've got the joystick for it, but the controls are infuriating, especially having to constantly switch the joystick between steer and roll/throttle mode. yet apart from the joystick controls there's no facility to rebind them I can see. Anyone know how I can rebind? What I want to do:Rebind the roll controls to Q and E. Rebind throttle increase and decrease to W and S. Power settings onto the 1-4 keys.Target cycling to R and T.Move the other controls I've not yet had cause to use around W and S when I have need for them. Dagonet 7,246 Posted January 20, 2015 Sounds like a weird joystick.
TIE Pilot 3,501 Posted January 21, 2015 I'm talking about keyboard controls. The joystick's fairly basic with numbered buttons 1 to 6.
Tipperary 2,370 Posted January 21, 2015 I got by fine with roll mode on one of the stick buttons, you honestly don't need to roll /that/ much. Other than that the controls seem to work pretty well, since most anything you'll use often is laid out fine.
TIE Pilot 3,501 Posted January 21, 2015 Is there no way to separate the roll and steer controls so that they can be used simultaneously?
HungryWulf 178 Posted January 21, 2015 When I played it (way back when), I used the joystick's twist control (Z-axis?) for roll, X-axis for turning, and Y-axis for pitch. Allowed me to corkscrew all the time. 1 TasteTheRainbow reacted to this
Gadge 4,294 Posted January 22, 2015 What i did was by a cheap pc compatible xbox type controller (£10 from 'game' in the UK) then remap the controls. remapping is a pig and you think its having no effect but it does work. I now have 'left stick' as direction, right stick as throttle.. the four 'buttons' do shield, weapon and beam toggle. 'start' selects singel or dual launch/fire. Right trigger is fire, right bumper is lock on nearerst. Left trigger is match speed left bumper is cycle targets. I dont find i need any more than that in a hurry.
